Historia
When I think about what I actually did, I feel somewhat sad that nobody will ever know about the complex operation that I undertook. Getting away with it is highly preferable, of course, but perhaps when I’m long gone, someone will open an old safe and find this confession. The public would reel. After all, almost nobody else in the world can possibly understand how someone, by the tender age of twenty-eight, can have calmly killed six members of her family. And then happily got on with the rest of her life, never to regret a thing.

I really, really tried.

This reminds my why I never purchase a new release. I made it almost 3 hours into this story before I just couldn’t listen anymore! This story just rambled on and on without a great story base to get you through it!

Historia
Meredith, a middle-aged and unhappily married mother, played her own trick on fate, embarking on a lengthy affair with a dark, handsome stranger. But guilt, that most tenacious of hunters, finally catches up with her...as does something far more threatening. Illicit relationships harbor no innocents. And when Meredith attempts to break free, she learns fate’s more vicious tricks await her.

I love Xe Sands narrating. I am thankful that this was a short book though. Interesting story. Hard to follow.

Historia
Chloe is one of seven students at her DC-based college who are part of an unusual clinical study of psychopaths - students like herself who lack empathy and can’t comprehend emotions like fear or guilt. The study, led by a renowned psychologist, requires them to wear smart watches that track their moods and movements. When one of the students in the study is found murdered in the psychology building, a dangerous game of cat and mouse begins, and Chloe goes from hunter to prey.

Meh

I completed this book only because I was hoping that it would get better. I felt like the story was about a whole lot of nothing. There was a twist at the end, but it wasn’t exciting enough to forgive the author for making me sit through a pretty mundane story.
