At some points I had a hard time continuing. How people can treat others so horribly, no matter what they believe, is inconceivable. Pray for peace, there's never been a better time for it. This book will help convince you.

Historia
A fascinating account of the world’s most famous disease - polio - told as you have never heard it before. Epidemics of paralysis began to rage in the early 1900s, seemingly out of nowhere. Doctors, parents, and health officials were at a loss to explain why this formerly unheard-of disease began paralyzing so many children. Why did this disease start to become such a horrible problem during the late 1800s? Why did it affect children more often than adults? Why was it originally called teething paralysis by mothers and their doctors?

Historia
Sixty-nine-year-old Arthur Pepper lives a simple life. He gets out of bed at precisely 7:30 a.m., just as he did when his wife, Miriam, was alive. He dresses in the same gray slacks and mustard sweater-vest; waters his fern, Frederica; and heads out to his garden. But on the one-year anniversary of Miriam's death, something changes. Sorting through Miriam's possessions, Arthur finds an exquisite gold charm bracelet he's never seen before.

A waste of time...
Revisado: 11-22-18
the only reason I finished this book was that I was driving a long distance and didn't have anything else to listen to. The plot twists and turns were ridiculous and far fetched. The descriptions were too long and wordy; I don't really care about weight lifting or restoring vintage cars, among other things. What happened to David Baldacci??!!

So very disappointed...
Revisado: 02-10-16
What disappointed you about Blood on Snow: A novel?
I've always looked forward to Jo Nesbo books. This one was more than disappointing. The lack of emotion in the narrator's voice was no help. I also don't particularly like when a female voice is used with a predominately male figure and visa versa. I don't mind at all when there are other characters, but if it's a guy speaking practically the entire book, I prefer a male voice. I'd say don't bother...
Would you ever listen to anything by Jo Nesbo and Neil Smith - Translator again?
I've preordered the next book, but if it's anything like this one, it may be my last.
How could the performance have been better?
As I said above, the monotonous tone of the reader was hard to take after a while. And having a female voice for the entire book wasn't especially liked.

An okay story that is very distracting with many different voices. Not very enjoyable. Don't like music interspersed either. Please don't make this the new way of taping things.

Revisado: 03-04-15
After listening to all of the Frank Quinn novels, I feel like Scott Brick has brought to life John Lutz's characters so that they've become a part of my life. Though they are all about serial killers, there is actually a comfort listening to and about them.
