I too lost my vision, and I could relate to so much of what she said. I think this book is essential for those of us who have experience vision loss. Thankfully I think like she does with embracing it, and not seeing it as a bad thing.

Historia
Winnifred "Win" McNulty has always been wildly independent. Not one to be coddled for her limb difference, Win has spent most of her life trying to prove that she can do it all on her own. And, with some minor adjustments, she's done just fine. That is until she has a one-night stand with the incredibly charming Bo, a perfect stranger. And that one night changes everything. While Bo is surprisingly elated to step up to the plate, Win finds herself unsure of whether she can handle this new challenge on her own or if she'll need a helping hand.

Absolutely incredible!
Revisado: 01-06-25
This book was absolutely incredible! I was able to relate to Winifred so much throughout the book. I felt that I could feel them falling in love, which was so beautiful. This is definitely one of my favorites now! I am so happy to find a good book representing people with disabilities, so often we are represented poorly. Most of the time I hesitate to even read the books, because they have been done so poorly. But not this one!

Historia
Never mix business with pleasure. Never bring politics into the bedroom. In a way I did both when I took Jackson Rutledge as a lover. I can't say I wasn't warned. Two years later, he was back. Walking into a deal I'd worked hard to close. Under the tutelage of Lei Yeung, one of the sharpest businesswomen in New York, I had picked up a thing or two since Jax walked away. I wasn't the girl he once knew, but he hadn't changed. Unlike the last time we'd drifted into each other's lives, I knew exactly what I was dealing with...and how addictive his touch could be.

Chose this one because of it’s tie to Michigan
Revisado: 04-11-23
I love that it took place in Michigan, but I felt the ending left a lot to be desired. I know that it is a series though, so hopefully some of the loose ends will be tied up later

I really love this author, but this book didn’t pull me in like the others. The middle became quite boring for me. However the ending was pretty good, so I am glad I finished.

Historia
The adoption business was founded on secrecy and lies. American Baby lays out how a lucrative and exploitative industry removed children from their birth mothers and placed them with hopeful families, fabricating stories about infants' origins and destinations, then closing the door firmly between the parties forever. Adoption agencies and other organizations that purported to help pregnant women struck unethical deals with doctors and researchers for pseudoscientific "assessments," and shamed millions of women into surrendering their children.

Very interesting
Revisado: 10-08-21
I really enjoyed this story. I enjoyed the format as well. Non-fiction stories that intertwine a real story with the history and ideals are my favorite. The story is heartbreaking, and made me quite angry that women could treat one another so horribly. The nurses and social workers were truly despicable. I really wish however that Gabriella read the story herself. The ending with her was very good and would have added to the audio book. I am glad for Margret that she got some memories and closure.

I know I should stay away from Ian Parker. But when my drug-dealing stepdad kicks me out, I have nowhere to go. Squatting in an abandoned shed on Ian’s grandpa’s farm seems like as good a plan as any. Ian finds me there, of course, and he insists on me moving into his spare room. I should say no, but the appeal of a roof and a warm bed is too much. Not to mention Ian’s brown eyes and strong arms. We’re nothing alike, but the spark between us is undeniable. But then I call the cops on my stepdad and unintentionally get my pregnant mom arrested.

The male narrator is horrendous!
Revisado: 01-16-21
I thought the first half of this book was good. However the second part got annoying and seemed to be rushed at the end. I couldn’t tolerate the male narrator. I cringed when he started his sections.
