An emotional, heartfelt romantic suspense story!

I really enjoyed this story in print form so I was excited to get the chance to listen to the audio. Of course I already had character voices in my head and I had pictured Luke with a much more rugged voice and it was hard to get used to. Kayla's character was spot on to what I'd expected.
This book was a nice blend of seeing the emerging romance unfold between Kayla and Luke and the suspense of her stalker/boyfriend trying to find her. Eli was as sweet as could be and very realistic for his age. Sometimes authors don't quite nail the behavior and personality typical of that age child but this couldn't have been better! Luke is exactly what you want in a man but not without the typical 'man cluelessness' which made his character that much more endearing.
Absolutely loved this one and will be reading and listening to it again!

Eight smoking-hot rugby players. Eight partners. Seventeen kids. Beaches and barbecues and beer, salt and sand and sea. Family and good mates and no worries. December in New Zealand. One very pregnant, very tired Hannah Montgomery Callahan is playing hostess to it all, doing her best and wondering if her best is good enough. And one legendary All Black captain is willing to do whatever it takes to show her that when he promised to be there for her forever, he meant it.

This was the best pairing yet! I loved the update on all the characters from the Escape to New Zealand series. I think this was Claire's best narration out of all that I've listened to so far. The character intonation was all spot on! I loved Finn's voicing. Can't wait to hear the next of Rosalind James' work voiced by Claire!

Historia
When you wish upon a star... Alec Kincaid has never met the obstacle he couldn't overcome - or the woman who could resist him. And it's not going to happen now, not with his star shining more brightly than ever in the high-stakes arena of San Francisco's software industry. Desiree Harlin doesn't believe in fairy tales, and she doesn't waste time wishing. She's learned the hard way that dreams don't come true. And with her reputation and hard-won security on the line, succumbing to temptation isn't an option.

Love the Kincaids, nice plot twists and turns!

This was one of my favorite Rosalind James books, I loved the story of Rae and Alec and seeing their relationship unfold and evolve. I felt like there was a little more depth to this story with the business side of things going on as well as the romance. Not that I don't love the author's other books but the plot twists in this one were fabulous. I couldn't wait to hear what would come next and find out who the 'bad guy' was in the end.
Getting little glimpses of what Gabe and Mira have been up to was great as well since I loved the first book in this series. I did have a harder time getting into the narration. As terrible as it is to say, I almost felt that the narrator sounded too old for Desiree and it was a little distracting.

Hemi Ranapia isn’t looking for love. Fun, yes. Love, not so much. But a summer fishing holiday to laid-back Russell could turn out to be more adventure than this good-time boy ever bargained for. Reka Harata hasn't forgotten the disastrously hot rugby star she met a year ago, no matter how much she wishes she could. Too bad Hemi keeps refusing to be left in her past.

Wow, this one had a LOT of passion! Claire did a stunning job narrating all the steamy scenes in this book, a great fit for what I had imagined Reka's voice to be. The story worked great as a sort of prequel to the rest of the series, giving us some more information on Reka and Hemi's back story and what they endured to get to their 'happily ever after.' I can never get enough of the Escape to New Zealand characters so I really enjoyed the extra details on their romance.

Hugh Latimer's coping with a few problems just now. A broken hand, missing the European rugby tour... and a half-brother and sister who are playing havoc with his love life. Instead of packing down in the scrum, he's driving the carpool to ballet - or forgetting it's his turn. When he hears his neighbor wailing out bad pop in the wee hours, it's the last straw.

Another great one from Rosalind and Claire!
Revisado: 04-14-15
Loved it! Claire did a fantastic job as always, bringing the characters to life. She really nailed Josie's passion. In previous books in this series, my only complaint has been the voicing of the children. Definitely not a deal breaker as I can only imagine how hard it is to sound like a child when you're really an adult ;) I'm only pointing this out to say how much I loved the voicing of Charlie in this book! All in all, it was a great audio book and very pleasing to listen to.
As for the story, it was fabulous. I just can't get enough of the Escape to New Zealand series. Another strong female character, a different relationship dynamic with her being well-known also, and a great romance make this story a great escape. I loved seeing the transformation and growth in maturity of Hugh and what a happy ending for Charlie and Amelia!

Excellent story, talented narration!
Revisado: 04-07-15
What did you love best about Escape to New Zealand Boxed Set, Books 1-3?
I loved these stories! Modern romance with realistic, genuine storylines and characters you can relate to. The books have an added bonus of referencing rugby which adds a nice dimension to the stories and I love the New Zealand setting!
What other book might you compare Escape to New Zealand Boxed Set, Books 1-3 to and why?
I'm not sure what I would compare it too, this series is rather unique.
Have you listened to any of Claire Bocking’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, this is the first I heard of Claire Bocking's work. I was definitely a fan! She does a great job differentiating the characters and her voice is pleasing to the ears. I will admit at first it took some getting used to hearing her voice Drew as in my head (after reading the book) I had pictured his voice as being deep and manly.
Who was the most memorable character of Escape to New Zealand Boxed Set, Books 1-3 and why?
This is a tough question, I'd have to pick between Drew and Jenna. Drew because he seems the ultimate, trustworthy man! Jenna because I feel like she's the character I can personally relate to the most.
