Historia
He was known as the "Desert Fox", and outfox his enemies he often did, leaving whole armies confounded and demoralized in his wake, and yet, the one adversary that Erwin Rommel could not outfox was his own government. On that rather unlucky day of October 14, 1944, when the SS came knocking on Rommel’s door, even his legendary heroism couldn’t save him from the monstrous regime for which he had once fought so hard.

want to know a quick summary of the desert fox? this is your book. want to impress your history nerd buddies with your in depth knowledge of rommel? better find something else.
this is just an overview of rommel's professional career. its not informative enough for my taste.
"he retook a city from communists diplomatically" yes but how?
"he lead a panzer regiment into france" yes, but which one?
i know what he did, thats not whats interesting to me. what is interesting is how he did it. nice book for someone looking to be a history "jack of all trades"

the book is STILL the only way to go

What did you like best about Eldest: The Inheritance Cycle, Book 2? What did you like least?
just like how hollywood ruined the Eragon movie, Gerard Doyle ruined the audiobook. saphira sounds like a giant yoda, solembum ACTUALLY SOUNDS LIKE YODA, he's got some good dwarf voices, but his voice for eragon is so bad it's sad. it's not even laughably bad, it's painful to listen to. when eragon is yelling, doyle does that "whispery scream". like he's trying to record with somebody sleeping nearby and he doesn't want to wake them up.
that's on top of all shouts and cries that sound like when a tv actor's character can't act, so they excessively fluctuate their voice and exaggerate EVERYThinG So WILdLY!!! It's a feeble attempt at one of my favorite books at all time. i only bought it after i was let down by the first book because i often don't have time to read these long books.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Eldest: The Inheritance Cycle, Book 2?
the good moments are so few and far between that you'd think they would REALLY stand out in your memory. but they don't.

Historia
When fifteen-year-old Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon soon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself. Overnight his simple life is shattered, and, gifted with only an ancient sword, a loyal dragon, and sage advice from an old storyteller, Eragon is soon swept into a dangerous tapestry of magic, glory, and power. Now his choices could save—or destroy—the Empire.

fantastic story, but paper is a better choice
Revisado: 06-18-17
this is my favorite book of all time! that being said, it hurts me to see it treated like this. his voices make me cringe. eragon sounds like a weenie. when he shot the crow off of the corpse pile gerard doyle said "oh no you dont" like mrs. weasley would when shooing off fred & george. instead of angry and distressed like eragon really was. and his voice for saphira sounds like a giant fat yoda. its hard to tell whether this or the movie is worse...

Historia
When the Knight Bus crashes through the darkness and screeches to a halt in front of him, it's the start of another far from ordinary year at Hogwarts for Harry Potter. Sirius Black, escaped mass-murderer and follower of Lord Voldemort, is on the run - and they say he is coming after Harry. In his first ever Divination class, Professor Trelawney sees an omen of death in Harry's tea leaves... But perhaps most terrifying of all are the Dementors patrolling the school grounds, with their soul-sucking kiss...

yeah you've heard it everywhere "the books are better than the movies" let me tell you something. that's merely an understatement.
