Hard start but amazing ending!

I wanted to leave a review for anyone who had trouble liking the characters at the beginning of the book. Stick with it because the book is great! There are many twists and turns. I now see that my initial dislike for the main character, versus how much I loved her in the end, was meant to show the reader her growth through the journey. I also loved the underlying conflict the main character has about whether God is good or cruel. I definitely recommend!

The moment her plane touched down, bombs went off across the US. She didn't know if this was the start of World War III or the end of the world. Surely, God hadn't called her home for this...? The bombs destroyed almost everything. And whatever was left withered away in the radiation left behind, forcing survivors to live indoors or underground.

I absolutely loved this book. We don’t have many Christian books that hit this genre. This was such a fun read!
