Historia
It’s 2006. After a string of rejections from men who tell her they could never, ever, ever see her “that way,” awkward third-grade teacher Micaela Blei signs up for a mysterious course called “The Divine Feminine,” and feels like she might have found the key to the perfect life. Turns out if you’re an A student, you can get an A in anything–including men. Pretty soon she’s learning to "conjure" her desires with vision boards, flirtations, and even a daring jumbotron viewing party for her, ahem ... "divine center."

Fun Story- disappointing ending

I was hoping for a different outcome for her. I wanted her to find the love of her life. Maybe she still will.

Historia
In 1980, a wealthy businessman named Carl Fletcher is kidnapped from his driveway, brutalized, and held for ransom. He is returned to his wife and kids less than a week later, only slightly the worse, and the family moves on with their lives, resuming their prized places in the saga of the American dream, comforted in the realization that though their money may have been what endangered them, it is also what assured them their safety.

Anti Semitic and Miserable
Revisado: 08-29-24
So…3 Jews, a disgusting sicko, a pathetic whiner, and a self- hating narcoleptic walk into a bar…and then they talk endlessly about their horrible parents, horrible grand parents, horrible spouses, horrible jobs, horrible lives. That’s the basic story, with lots of anti semitic stereotyping thrown in. ( ok, they don’t really walk into a bar).I kept listening to it because there was supposedly this great “twist “ at the end, but it was more of a brow raiser than a gasp of surprise. Save yourself the agony and don’t bother reading this.

Historia
When Marilyn Kleinman is caught making out with the rabbi’s son in front of the whole congregation, her parents ship her off to her great-aunt Ada for the summer. If anyone can save their daughter’s reputation, it’s Philadelphia’s strict premier matchmaker. Either that or Marilyn can kiss college goodbye. To Marilyn’s surprise, Ada’s not the humorless septuagenarian her mother described. Not with that platinum-blonde hair, Hermès scarf, and Cadillac convertible. She’s sharp, straight-talking, takes her job very seriously, and abides by her own rules…mostly.

Great story, I didn’t want it to end. The big surprise was very predictable, but it didn’t matter.

Very fun twist
Revisado: 09-16-23
This is the first book that I’ve read by this author, and it was great. I think the reviews that complain about the emails and the turtle references are missing the point. It’s obvious why both are integral to the plot. The story was fascinating up through the twist, it slowed down a little post- twist. I think there were a few unanswered questions, but maybe I just missed the explanations. The ending was dull in comparison to the rest of the book but in general it’s definitely worth reading.

Historia
Thirty-three-year-old Abby Stern has made it to a happy place. True, she still has gig jobs instead of a career, and the apartment where she’s lived since college still looks like she’s just moved in. But she’s got good friends, her bike, and her bicycling club in Philadelphia. She’s at peace with her plus-size body—at least, most of the time—and she’s on track to marry Mark Medoff, her childhood sweetheart, a man she met at the weight-loss camp that her perpetually dieting mother forced her to attend.

Omg, the “Abby” narrator’s voice!! It’s killing me. I was actually laughing hysterically through the big beginning sex scene, the voice is so absurd. I’m not sure I’m going to get through this audio book. I’ve heard grating voices before, but this is over the top.

Whine, whine whine
Revisado: 03-23-19
The main character is always a victim, in every situation. She is so whiny and constantly complaining, and everyone she meets is a narcissist. The best was her horror over a guy getting frustrated with the xerox machine, she made it out to be like he held a knife to her throat. Then she was decimated by having to do an errand for her boss, and then she was destroyed that her boyfriend was aggravated that she kept quitting jobs. The story would have been far more credible if someone had eventually slapped her.

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Terrible ending

The story was okay, but the last chapter and “ epilogue” seemed like someone told the author that they had 5 minutes to finish. So unlikely, and simplistic.
