A GREAT Finish!

This book is much more exciting than the first. While I didn’t love some of the time jump and allusions to seemingly huge events that aren’t fully explained, these elements added equal parts frustration and intrigue. Despite this, the book is hard to put down, and the second half is particularly intense.

An engaging listen though it is a little slow in parts. The court intrigue and galactic mysteries keep the story moving. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series.

He would be a fantastic narrator for sleep aides but he never speaks louder than a whisper and he makes you believe every character is constantly half asleep.

Inspiring and depressing

Let me be clear. I loved this book. It was fantastic and, more often than I expected, moving to hear President Obama speak of his first term. I was hanging on almost every word, though the parts the felt like my old economics classes in college may have lost me a few times, if I’m being honest. This book reminded me of a time, not that long ago, when I could genuinely believe and hope for a better world. In a few short years since he left office however, I can’t help but feel a deep sadness over where we are as a country now. I know he’ll never see this but Thank You for this book and your service President Obama.
