Historia
Steve Almond shares the insights gleaned from three decades as a beloved teacher and mentor, and a considerably less-beloved literary rabble rouser. His tone is irreverent. His ideas are iconoclastic. And his approach is stubbornly, radically, empathic. The goal is to explode the well-meaning but misguided myths that hold us back from writing our deepest and most honest work, to awaken the joys of storytelling while also confronting how grueling the process can be.

Historia
In his inimitably entertaining and wonderfully witty style, he takes apart famous phrases and shows how you too can write like Shakespeare or quip like Oscar Wilde. Whether you’re aiming to achieve literary immortality or just hoping to deliver the perfect one-liner, The Elements of Eloquence proves that you don’t need to have anything important to say - you simply need to say it well.

Historia
Literature is a technology like any other. And the writers we revere - from Homer, Shakespeare, Austen, and others - each made a unique technical breakthrough that can be viewed as both a narrative and neuroscientific advancement. Literature’s great invention was to address problems we could not solve: not how to start a fire or build a boat, but how to live and love; how to maintain courage in the face of death; how to account for the fact that we exist at all.

Fantastic. With his own fun style the author provides a joyful tour of the twists and turns of the story of story. What a fabulous scaffolding on which to arrange one’s reading and writing experience. Can’t wait for the next 25.

Historia
In this new edition of The TB12 Method, Tom Brady further explains and details the revolutionary training, conditioning, and wellness system that has kept him atop the NFL at an age when most players are deep into retirement. Brady - along with the expert Body Coaches at TB12, the performance lifestyle brand he cofounded in 2013 with Alex Guerrero - explain the principles and philosophies of pliability, a paradigm-shifting fitness concept that focuses on a more natural, healthier way of exercising, training, and living.

Very disappointing to not only not have access to the fabled pdf but to be unsure if we are entitled to it. Great book. Science not always grounded but when are theories not assumed to be gospel in exercise science. Sounds like he gives a good description of how to do pliability training on your own with vibrating devices and making a case for why they are superior but without the PDF how can I tell! You can buy these vibrating devices for a quarter of the price on Amazon if you wish. Of course he says to be the best you need a TB12 trainer that’s because a lot of the techniques can be performed more precisely by an expert and there is no escaping that. Maybe one day there will be TB12 trainers at your golds gym and you can get an evaluation at least. Some of the audio can seem a little redundant maybe even a lot redundant but really this book should be all about the PDF and the 12 principles anyhow.

Historia
Al Franken, Giant of the Senate is a book about an unlikely campaign that had an even more improbable ending: the closest outcome in history and an unprecedented eight-month recount saga, which is pretty funny in retrospect. It's a book about what happens when the nation's foremost progressive satirist gets a chance to serve in the United States Senate and, defying the low expectations of the pundit class, actually turns out to be good at it.

I loved 99% of it--
Revisado: 07-09-17
The only part I hated was the part where he informed me that he contemplated a bill to require all things presented as facts to be intended as facts but then decided not to introduce it! Please reconsider! Best audible book I have listened to--to hear such a genuine person provide a glimpse into what Congress is like to them with such humor, grace and humility was a treat. Nothing has kept me so awake while driving in a while.
