Historia
Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade.

This is honestly just not good, not bad, but also not good
Revisado: 01-27-25
Sanderson has just been going downhill with these since oathbringer. There's a lot of weird pacing choices here. we all know by now how much Sanderson enjoys his perspective changes, generally no big deal, but at this point it's become jarring. some chapters there's overs three different stories taking place in completely different areas with over 5 different perspectives. This book was written as if it was aimed at a target audience of TikTok obsessed children who can't focus on a single character or moment for more than a few pages. I had hoped it would get better as the book went on, but it only gets worse and with this ADHD writing style
the dialog has gotten worse in a variety of ways, as others have said we're now getting marvel "uhhh, so that just happened" tier choices of dailogue at different points.
This series is being carried by its past at this point

Historia
After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move. Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals.

pornographic depression
Revisado: 01-18-21
lord have mercy this book was probably the worst out of the series to be honest. you get 25 chapters of Kaladin pornographically describing his depression, and boy do I mean pornographically, he spends HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS describing every single aspect of his depression. lord, it felt like sanderson took a list of depression symptoms and just slathered them on.
let me put it this way, you will probably get more enjoyment from 1 taravangian chapter towards the end will easily be better than kaladins entire arc.
kaladins depression arc feels extra heavy when combined with the fact that Shallans arc is also mental illness for another dozen or so chapters, then another character is self doubt, and it just compounds to make this 50+ hour journey really tiresome.
let me put it this way, this is the only sanderson book I found myself skipping chapters. Shallan starts being pornographic *skip* Kaladin starts being pornographic *skip* .

Historia
As early as 1941, Allied victory in World War II seemed all but assured. How and why, then, did the Germans prolong the barbaric conflict for three and a half more years? In The German War, acclaimed historian Nicholas Stargardt draws on an extraordinary range of primary source materials - personal diaries, court records, and military correspondence - to answer this question. He offers an unprecedented portrait of wartime Germany, bringing the hopes and expectations of the German people to vivid life.

truly a watershed moment in humanity, READ THIS
Revisado: 08-12-20
This book was incredible, it should be required reading for anyone interested in humanity! the reflections are amazing, the letters are truly jarring and allow the Germans to speak for themselves. it's wonderful, and it really shines a light on how human the Nazis were, and how easy it is for humans to commit atrocities while still viewing themselves as the victims. I found myself cheering as the book neared it's end and I was able to hear the wonderfully deserved allied boot on their necks, while they still viewed themselves as victims and didn't care what evils they had visited on the rest of the world

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.
