Missed the mark

Dull story of the most average and basic of guys that stumbled upon a Dungeon core. Dude, not only has the emotional control of a four-year-old, he also just goes from life-threatening situation to situation with little to no planning whatsoever and is consistently saved by others or plot.
I kept expecting the book to get better, but it just did not, repeatedly recycling through the same tedious situations over and over again. Then they added some persistent random horniness to the mix when Alyssa showed up and i about gave up.
This book was included as part of audible plus and I still kinda want my money back.

Handicapped Again

Why create an op MC if you’re going to continuously handicap him every chance you get???

1st it was him wanting to pretend to be normal and hide his strength, then he was scared of accumulating more Doom points, now he’s afraid to awaken the sleeping dragon within or whatever 🤦‍♀️

This sh*t is getting old man, cut it out.

Tedious

Listening to this was frustrating. First the constant bickering between the two men was irritating and juvenile, and felt like I was listening to a book about teenagers and not grown ass men.
2nd the narrator’s voices was often so indistinct I kept getting confused as to which xter was speaking.
Would return if I could..

Really Tao?

As someone who automatically buys every single Tao Wong book, this installment was a definite disappointment :(
Quite the filler, i kept listening and waiting for the murder mystery nonsense to be over so we can get back to the actual storyline when I discovered i was at the end & the book was over!

I don’t know why Tao thinks that we would be invested in this book when even the MC was only vaguely interested in the tournament, barely knew his companions and couldn’t be bothered to get involved in the rebel nonsense going on.

I am looking forward to the next book in hopes that it is a great improvement from this one.

Truly, truly Terrible

Do NOT waste your time or your money/credit like I did. Absolutely not worth it. I could go into further detail so you can understand exactly what was wrong with this book and why you should avoid it, but I honestly just want to bleach this whole experience out of my memory.

Pretty bad actually

Wow was not expecting this to be so bad. I’ve purchased several other books from Charles Dean and decided to give this series a go and well….let’s just say I won’t be continuing to book 2

It had a good enough premise but definitely needs to be retooled. It read like a high schoolers attempt at litrpg or book that was written in a different language and poorly translated.

Narrator was also quite awful, not the worst but not even close to the best.

I get that the Mc is all sunshine and rainbows but let me tell you, that sh*t got really old really fast. People are straight up trying to murder her and she’s like let be friends tho 🤦‍♀️.
I have met genuinely good, nice people and even they would roll their eyes over this characterization. For a modern 16 year old she was completely ridiculous. I honestly would have preferred if the author aged her down to maybe 10-12 that way it would be more believable.

The story itself was ok and the side xters weren’t too bad, i was honestly 100 times more invested in literally every other xter than i was in the mc lol

I don’t regret the purchase as this book was sitting in my wish list for a while, but I definitely won’t be continuing the series

25% Isekai 75% Romance novel

I was expecting a lot more adventuring, exploration & xter growth. Instead we have a romance storyline that dominates majority of the book with small inserts of the mc learning about the world & his magic bit by slow bit.
Don’t get me wrong, this is not a bad book per se and Andrea Parsneau is excellent as always, however it just wasn’t what I was looking for…🤷
