Historia
A “flip,” writes Jeffrey J. Kripal, is “a reversal of perspective,” “a new real,” often born of an extreme, life-changing experience. The Flip is Kripal’s ambitious, visionary program for unifying the sciences and the humanities to expand our minds, open our hearts, and negotiate a peaceful resolution to the culture wars.

Historia
Jung's primary concern in Flying Saucers is not with the reality or unreality of UFOs but with their psychic aspect. Rather than speculate about their possible nature and extraterrestrial origin as alleged spacecraft, he asks what it may signify that these phenomena, whether real or imagined, are seen in such numbers just at a time when humankind is menaced as never before in history. The UFOs represent, in Jung's phrase, "a modern myth."

The narrator is a bit dry and hard to follow at times as well. Maybe I’m missing something but I can’t find the art.

I’ve been diving in very deep the last few years on the phenomenon. This is one of those rare centered looks that feels like it’s pointing at the truth.

Lyra is now a 20-year-old undergraduate at St. Sophia’s College, and intrigue is swirling around her once more. Her daemon, Pantalaimon, is witness to a brutal murder, and the dying man entrusts them with secrets that carry echoes from their past. The more Lyra is drawn into these mysteries, the less she is sure of.

It’s hard to say this after how much I enjoyed the subtle knife and the amber spyglass, but here’s my stance:
This is my favorite book in the his dark materials universe.
There I said it.
The depth each main character has without much fuss, The real to life anxiety and depression of adulthood that Lyra is experiencing, and the expansive world trotting make this book a real joy.
Michael Sheen is incredible with the characters.

Historia
Few novels have had as profound an impact on American culture as On the Road. Pulsating with the rhythms of 1950s underground America, jazz, sex, illicit drugs, and the mystery and promise of the open road, Kerouac’s classic novel of freedom and longing defined what it meant to be “beat” and has inspired generations of writers, musicians, artists, poets, and seekers who cite their discovery of the book as the event that “set them free”.
