This story sounded like real black queer men, in a black a** city
Revisado: 05-10-24
So, I have to come in the writer because he wrote a story that you almost never hear about in modern media today. He wrote about the life and times of queer black men in a majority black city in the Midwest. everybody knows Detroit for a lot of different things automobiles, and Motown music. But this story here brings to life the rich, black, loving family, and friendship of the queer community here in Detroit! And the performance of these characters sound like real people that live here! with all of the ups and downs that that entails. thank you Aaron Foley, this was an amazing story and I'm so glad that you decided to tell it so the world can see!

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

powerful observations... from a keen mind
Revisado: 05-12-19
this book was a hilarious autobiography plby Trevor Noah ... as an African-American myself, I found myself quite surprised with how much I had in common with a colored child of apartheid, And post-apartheid South Africa... it was amazing... And if you get the chance you should definitely hear some of the experiences... Trevor narrates about his life... as a lot of these lessons Are very relatable no matter what background you may come from.

5 stars for Literally displaying #BlackGirlMagic!!
Revisado: 02-13-19
This is a wonderful read, with fantastic Voice acting! I cannot overstate how refreshing it is to see a fantasy setting where Stuffy white guys in robes aren't the primary purveyors of magic... It is People of color! Kids of color! There is a love story in there Between the Protagonist and main antagonist that goes nowhere, but ultimately this Book is a must read for any Black Teen fantasy reader...if for nothing else...just to show other cultures are out there weaving spells and mastering the energies of the world too...😉

Historia
Listeners first met Anna Marshall in The Soprano Sorceress, when she wished to be anything other than a music teacher and singer in Iowa - this was before she was pulled into the world of Erde, where her gift of song became a gift of magic. Her musical ability has since given Anna influence, control, and the potential to be an enormously powerful sorceress. Now, as the regent of Defalk, Anna must battle two men who would destroy her and claim Defalk for their own.
