Historia
In this groundbreaking novel, Santiago Jose Sanchez plunges us into the heart of one boy’s life. His mother takes him and his brother from Colombia to America, leaving their absent father behind but essentially disappearing herself once they get to Miami. In America, his mother works as a waitress when she was once a doctor. The boy embraces his queer identity as wholeheartedly as he embraces his new home, but not without a sense of loss.

Good information, but outdated
Revisado: 08-16-24
I really liked this book and it has a lot of helpful information on running a campaign. The book is outdated and doesn’t address much use of technology and internet (it references MySpace if that tells you what time it’s from). Still overall I’m glad I read it.
Additionally, it does not address how to run a primary campaign when you don’t have support of the party yet.

Historia
Our ability to prevent and reverse these conditions—and feel incredible today—is under our control and simpler than we think. The key is our metabolic function—the most important and least understood factor in our overall health. As Dr. Casey Means explains in this book, nearly every health problem we face can be explained by how well the cells in our body create and use energy. To live free from frustrating symptoms and life-threatening disease, we need our cells to be optimally powered so that they can create “good energy,” the essential fuel that impacts every aspect of our wellbeing.

Historia
Born under different stars—Mungo a Protestant and James a Catholic—they should be sworn enemies if they’re to be seen as men at all. Their environment is a hyper-masculine and sectarian one, for gangs of young men and the violence they might dole out dominate the Glaswegian estate where they live. And yet against all odds Mungo and James become best friends as they find a sanctuary in the pigeon dovecote that James has built for his prize racing birds.

Great book! Amazing characters!
Revisado: 03-24-24
The characters in this book are so well developed and the flow of the book makes you want to stop life and get through it because you can’t put it down. It’s heart wrenching and beautiful and tragic all at the same time.

Good book, very intense
Revisado: 11-16-23
Glad to have another good gay book on audible. I really liked it though it’s a hard one to recommend to anyone because it’s so intense. The ending does sort of get thinner and thinner as you go and I wanted a more cathartic ending but, it was worth the time for me. Good performance from the reader.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

This is such an incredible piece. It is so surprising and delightful and heartbreaking. There are some negative reviews (though far more positive ones) and I imagine that is because some people have no imagination or heart and soul. This is truly wonderful.
