Historia
Edith Widder’s childhood dream of becoming a marine biologist was almost derailed in college, when complications from a surgery gone wrong caused temporary blindness. A new reality of shifting shadows drew her fascination to the power of light - as well as the importance of optimism. As her vision cleared, Widder found the intersection of her two passions in oceanic bioluminescence, a little-explored scientific field within Earth’s last great unknown frontier: the deep ocean.

A must read!
Revisado: 06-24-23
I got this book because I had an extra token and wasn't sure what to read. it seemed interesting. I am glad I got his book. This book offers a compelling story about the deep sea, bioluminescence, and the perseverance of humans and other animals. it warns of the negative impact humans have but also offers a new perspective on how to see the problem. It gave me a new perspective of optimism.
What I enjoyed the most was how everything is balanced in this book. You have Dr. Widder's mini biography, bioluminescence, fascinating facts about sealive, and the struggles of deep sea exploration. It blends scientific facts and data with relatable references. This book is definitely worth a listen/read.

It's definitely worth checking out
Revisado: 02-02-23
The performer reminds me of Brain from the cartoon Pinky and the Brain. The information presented in this book gives you a good basic understanding of CBT and some added perspective. I was able to apply a lot of the techniques. I shared concepts with my wife, and the book got her attention as well. It helped us with our own personal little issues we were dealing with.
This isn't going to solve every problem or replace therapy if it is needed. It will give you simple explanations and techniques. The author is honest about the technique, gives great examples, and includes a small supplemental PDF.. It will point you in the right direction to self-improvement and being less harsh on yourself. Always invest in yourself. You're worth it.

Historia
Deep is a voyage from the ocean's surface to its darkest trenches, the most mysterious places on Earth. Fascinated by the sport of freediving - in which competitors descend to great depths on a single breath - James Nestor embeds with a gang of oceangoing extreme athletes and renegade researchers. He finds whales that communicate with other whales hundreds of miles away, sharks that swim in unerringly straight lines through pitch-black waters, and other strange phenomena.

A humble observation
Revisado: 10-26-22
James Nestor approaches this from a humble novice point of view. He shares how he became involved in deep diving and the journey it took him on. From a person who is a novice as well who enjoys to surfing and wildlife documentaries, this was entertaining. Nestor's performance is good enough. There is some humor and interesting information about sealife, humans, earth and how it all can be connected. It's definitely worth a listen.

Historia
In the summer of 1990, Eddie Vedder left the surf and sun in San Diego to join a group of friends working to put a new band together in the Seattle underground. Within months, they were anything but underground; they’d found their lead singer, and Vedder went on to lead Pearl Jam on a global takeover of ‘90s culture. In this latest edition of Audible’s Words + Music series, Vedder dives deep, reflecting on a life at the intersection of art, sensitivity, and masculinity.

Great story with minimal confusion.
Revisado: 09-19-22
The story and performance are well done. My only critique is that there a times where the story can get confusing. Specifically the dialoque between characters. It does not happen often and does not affect any important parts. It happens minimally, and still worth listening to.
