Successful persistence
Revisado: 04-26-24
I love this story, I have listen or read it at least 10 times. The main character, Melonly finds a way to have her music in spite of her parent’s resistance to the music. I love Anne M way of telling the story and the incorporation of mental telepathy.

Wil can’t stay away from the outside world forever, though. Sooner or later, he must return and face the bully determined to fight him and his bickering parents, who worry when Wil decides to stay on the island indefinitely.

Wonderful for the Family
Revisado: 12-26-20
I used recordings of Gary Paulsons books to help my son learn to read 30 years ago. Canyons is a family favorite. . I have it in paperback, cassette tape ,CD and now downloaded to my library. My husband and I just listen to it on our way home, probably the 20 th time to listen, still a wonderful story for all ages.

Historia
Here are the real events that inspired Gary Paulsen to write Brian Robeson’s story in Hatchet, The River, Brian’s Winter, Brian’s Return, and Brian's Hunt: a stint as a volunteer emergency worker; the death that became the pilot’s death in Hatchet; plane crashes he’s seen; and his own near misses. He takes listeners on his first hunting trips, showing the wonder and solace of nature along with his hilarious mishaps and mistakes. He shares special memories, such as the night he attracted every mosquito in the county, and how he met the moose who made it personal.

Best stories
Revisado: 08-30-20
I started using Gary Paulsen’s stories, Hatchet , Canyons, logging camp. To get my then 7 year old to realize there were good stories to read a dit was worth learning to read. We had them on cassette tape. Since then I love Peter coyote’s voice . 30 years later my husband and I still listen in the car. We love Woodsong. We had not seen guts , I found it when I needed to update my listening mode. It was wonderful to hear the “true” life story behind the stories. Gary has given my family many years of wonderful memories and traveling stories. I have not had a bad read from any Gary Paulsen story.
