Historia
There isn't much fun in the sun when a billionaire real estate tycoon is found murdered on the Tilt-a-Whirl at a seedy seaside amusement park in the otherwise quiet summer tourist town of Sea Haven. John Ceepak, a former MP just back from Iraq, has just joined the Sea Haven police department. The job offer came from an old Army buddy who hoped to give Ceepak at least a summer's worth of rest and relaxation to help him forget the horrors of war. Instead, Ceepak will head up the murder investigation.

John Ceepak Rules!
Revisado: 12-31-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely, great fun, good mystery and the introduction of the wonderful John Ceepak.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Not so much the mystery but I absolutely loved the two main characters. It is not so intense as many other mysteries, certainly not as graphic as most, but it is very enjoyable.
Have you listened to any of Jeff Woodman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was the first and he was a great narrator.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely. It was SO easy to listen to.
Any additional comments?
I bought this when it was on sale and immediately purchased the next three in the series. Thanks Audible and all the reviewers for introducing me to this series.

Historia
The crime-fighting careers of Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings have come full circle—they are back once again in the rambling country house in which they solved their first murder together. Both Hercule Poirot and Great Styles have seen better days—but, despite being crippled with arthritis, there is nothing wrong with the great detective and his “little gray cells.” However, when Poirot brands one of the seemingly harmless guests a five-time murderer, some people have their doubts. But Poirot alone knows he must prevent a sixth murder before the curtain falls.

Who was your favorite character and why?
Poirot of course.
What about Hugh Fraser’s performance did you like?
As always excellent.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes it was, but I didn't!
Any additional comments?
Whilst many of the later books in this series were disappointing this was an excellent ending to an overall wonderful series. It was fantastic to have the pairing of Poirot and the gentle Hastings for the last mystery. If you have enjoyed Poirot you will not be disappointed.

What made the experience of listening to With No One as Witness the most enjoyable?
I think the story. I have read most of the 'Inspector Lynley' series and really enjoy the books. This book continues the storyline of Havers & Lynley, combining the murder investigation with their personal stories seamlessly. The ending of the book has left me eager for the next chapter.

History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

Very enjoyable historical romance.
Revisado: 08-07-12
Where does The Winter Sea rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was my first 'romance' novel & I thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot combined the past and the present seamlessly. Some of the current day characters were a bit bland - but it is the 'historical' portion of the story that really held my attention.
Which scene was your favorite?
No spoilers - but the best scenes for me are towards the end of the book. Warning - bring your tissues!
If you could rename The Winter Sea, what would you call it?
A Highland Fling - I know not very original! This is why I read & not write.
Any additional comments?
The performance of the narrator was amazing. I honestly thought that the male Scottish roles was performed by a male narrator. Props to Rosalyn Landor for an excellent job.
