One of the best books I've read in a while!!

I love that the pace was consistent throughout the book. I love the characters. I love that the spice didn't happen immediately but when it did, it was SO worth it. The plot remained unpredictable, and I was shooketh every chapter by every new piece of information. I have no idea how I am going to survive waiting for the next book!!

I LOVED this book. A perfect balance in the cross-over portions without completely making this an ACOTAR book.
This tied up CC in one of the cleanest and most satisfying book resolutions I have ever read!

I don't even know what to say. I haven't had a book leave me speechless in a really long time. I am simultaneously reeling from shock and grief and also high on adrenaline and anticipation for the next book.

I get it, it just made me sad

I totally understand why the book ended the way it did but it leaves me grieving such a beautiful soul of a character. It was bittersweet -one life lost but tens of lives touched throughout the book by this character.
This is such a good book but the ending does not follow the typical romance formula you may be expecting (happy ending.)

I will definitely be reading the next book, but I won't be expecting a happy ending! If one happens then yay!

Another fantastic Harper read!

1) I always love this narrator, especially in Harper's books.
2) This was a very fun story! I love that it quickly stopped feeling like a female solo mission within the first few chapters and quickly evolved into a story of support and family! All around feel good book of magic, mystery, and mayhem. I'm excited to see what Harper puts out next!

I really enjoyed the narration! This book felt so distinctly Nesta- the writing style was different, the priorities were different, and the way that she thinks was different. I loved reading Nesta's story and understanding her in a way that I haven't been able to before. She's my favorite character now!

A very sweet NOVELLA

I really enjoyed the book for what it was: a novella. I'm confused why the other reviews are so angry because this book is marketed as a novella and not an official 'novel' of the series. It is SUPPOSED to feel a little different in terms of storytelling. This is sort of like the second Beauty and the Beast movie, which was a Christmas special where it was from even more different points of view. I think it's sweet that we got a glimpse into what just a few specific days during the holiday season were like for our beloved characters after the traumatizing battle. And since we were able to enter into the minds of a few characters rather than just Rhys and Fayre, we can move forward into the next novel understanding the way other characters think a little more.
I don't see this novella as a "filler" between books but rather than a gift of additional insight into the world and it's people.

love the premise, hate the character development

I almost stopped reading several times because of the pure sexism coming from Stefan. It was painful to read how Isabelle who started as such a strong force (a badass) turn into a meek girl who almost read as coerced into a lot of her decisions. I loved the first book and enjoyed the sneak peak at the third book but this one was really hard to finish.

Only 22 hours in

So: I’m 22 ours in- about 30 left to go. I really like the world of the story. I really like the attributes of the characters that make them unique from one another. Overall so far- in general it’s an interesting read.
My one major problem which is why I’m writing a review only 22 hours in is that I feel like Skye has no passion or personality. I don’t think it’s just the way the narrator chose to deliver the lines. Example of a situation: Ethan kisses Skye.
Skye: hm.
Skye walks in on Ethan and Chris doing the dirty.
Skye: I observed this situation. Anyway here are my observations on this other situation.

It feels so robotic. It is absolutely possible to have a kick ass female lead character without her fawning all over the guy character or dramatizing every romantic situation. Her reactions just don’t feel genuine. Even if she isn’t a dramatic or grudge holding person, I expected more of a reaction to her walking in on Chris and Ethan together as slightly more. Or rather I guess, I’d have enjoyed it if we got to see her reaction, process her feelings, compartmentalize, then go kick ass. Take us on that journey of emotion with you.
Having no opinion at all just took my interest in the character away a bit.
