Historia
For DEA Special Agent Marshall Everett, life as he knows it is over once a gunshot wound renders his arm useless. Barred forever from the undercover work he loves, he has nothing - no close friends, no family, no hometown or base, and no desire to settle for life behind a desk. He's called to action in the most unlikely of places when he stumbles upon a beautiful girl burying an old steel box in a Parisian park.

Two stories become one
Revisado: 11-18-23
This is a fascinating story of how two lives mesh to become one.
Both started with serious problems and lots of pain. The title can fit both stories. The ending is very satisfying and romantic.

From the glamorous San Francisco social scene of the 1920s, through war and the social changes of the ’60s, to the rise of Silicon Valley today, this extraordinary novel takes us on a family odyssey that is both heartbreaking and inspiring, as each generation faces the challenges of their day. The Parisian design houses in 1928, the crash of 1929, the losses of war, the drug culture of the 1960s - history holds many surprises, and lives are changed forever.

A fascinating story of 5 generations with lots of love, happiness, sorrow, sadness, victories and losses. And an ending with more of the same. Good narrator.

Excessive Violence and Swearing, Foul language
Revisado: 04-10-16
Would you try another book from Royal Wade Kimes and/or John Pruden?
No
What could Royal Wade Kimes have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Less unnecessary killing and eliminate the "hard on my ears" violent language.
It was a unique plot. He dragged out the ending by inserting events that could have been left out.
What three words best describe John Pruden’s performance?
Good voice, talented

Great author and narrator
Revisado: 03-04-16
Where does The Prodigal Brother rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
We are thoroughly enjoying the Longhorn Series. Rhodes is a excellent writer with unique vocabulary. Tremendous plot (no unrelated episodes), good descriptions, suspense. Can't wait to finish one so I can order the next in the series. This is truly the kind of book that is hard to close at bedtime.
Have you listened to any of Gene Engene’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
First 2 Longhorn books. His voice is clear and sharp; excellent character voices; good volume. Easy to listen to (unlike narrator for "Hard Country" --which I returned.

Historia
Mauled by a giant grizzly and left to die, 16 year-old Jose Olano's chances for life were remote. Then, like a guardian angel, came Robert "Gray Eagle" McAllister, one-time army scout and sometime outlaw. In his flight to escape a posse, he finds the brutalized body of Jose. Knowing his decision to help Jose may mean his own death, he stays and brings Jose back from the brink of death. Thus began one of the greatest companionships ever known to the Idaho frontier.

A Winner about Western Mountain Living
Revisado: 02-10-16
What did you love best about Death of an Eagle?
Kirby Jones knows the western mountains better than most western writers. He teaches survival methods through his major character-Macalister. His descriptions of the area, the Indians, and the characters are vividly portrayed, like a movie in my head.
What did you like best about this story?
Great Plot. Keeps moving. Believable
What about James Drury’s performance did you like?
He read clearly, good volume, and professional.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending was emotional, but realistic, and matched Jose's values and character.
Any additional comments?
Anxious to read more books by K. Jones
