Cute, light story….horrible narration!
Revisado: 12-11-23
I enjoyed the actual story but the narration was awful. Her voice for Travis sounded like a crotchety old man in his 80s and not some desirable stud muffin.

For an athlete, who is smart, pretty and well-liked, this night that should be the highlight of her high school career. But Emily has a secret. And by the end of the evening, that secret will be silenced forever. Forty years later, Emily’s murder remains a mystery. Her tight-knit group of friends closed ranks; her respected, wealthy family retreated inwards; the small town moved on from her grisly attack. But all that’s about to change.

Hated the ridiculous use of the “F” word
Revisado: 12-07-23
The story wasn't bad but she overused the F word throughout the book. I read it to the end, just to see how she ended the story...but it wasn't because I was enjoying the read. Could have been better.

Did not like these women
Revisado: 12-07-23
I did not care for any of these women. In their own way, they were shallow and I kept hoping for more from just one of them. I thought the narrator was awful. When she was speaking as a man she was always screeching and sounded like a wretch. Since it was written in first person...and flipped from character to character (even though she identified the person) if you got distracted it was hard to tell who was speaking. Her other books are so much better. This one was a big disappointment for me.

Historia
For more than a year, over two brutal Northeast winters, the whole of Vermont was captivated by the hunt for a runaway golden retriever named Murphy. He was more than a missing dog - he was a target for capture, and journalistic obsession. This is that story. Murphy’s disappearance would unite the dog’s increasingly anxious owners with an impassioned reporter - Wilson Ring, the state’s correspondent for the Associated Press - and an online community of animal lovers. As Murphy kept running, the quest to bring him home, safe and sound, seemed more and more impossible.

I loved this book just like I love animals!

A wonderful story of finding an elusive lost dog that was traumatized after a car accident and bolted. I felt like I was there watching from the kitchen window as the story played out.
