Historia
Margot and James are broken up—for good this time. James made sure of it when he dropped the bomb on Margot: that he doesn’t want kids, ever. Then, on the biggest morning of his life, James—an ambitious lawyer at a high-powered firm—wakes up pregnant. He realizes with dread that he is part of a recent epidemic of men suddenly and inexplicably becoming pregnant. His condition obvious to the higher-ups, James is denied the promotion he was expecting, sending him reeling.

Brilliant concept
Revisado: 08-11-24
I have loved all of the books I’ve read by Jodi Picoult but this one just blew me away. What a brilliant concept and fitting way to show what women in this country are currently facing.

I really loved this book. I had no idea this program under President Grant existed. The author and narrator did an amazing job bringing all the characters to life. Highly recommend it.

I’ve read and enjoyed previous Eve Duncan books but was disappointed with the plot and performance of this one. I will most likely read the sequel but I don’t feel compelled to do so.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Game changer
Revisado: 05-01-23
Every so often a book arrives at just the right moment in your life. This is what happened for me with this book. It left me feeling filled with hope at what I could do with my future rather despairing my past.

I found this story so compelling from opening to the final sentence. It isn’t often I cry while listening to a book but Clara’s story caused me to do so more than once. Read it—you won’t regret it.

Not a fan
Revisado: 01-16-23
I have to say this book was a trial to read. I found the writing style of having the characters interrupt the story with their opinions and personal gripes tedious at best. I will not be reading the sequels.

Disappointing ending again
Revisado: 07-23-22
I was reading this on audible and the third book in the series Diablo Mesa at the same time. Both books have really contrived endings that are very artificial. The performance for Pendergast was almost comical. If he is supposed to sound like James Bond the narrator needs to listen to a few of those movies and try harder. The stories for both books are interesting but when you get to the endings for both you feel really let down. Not sure if I want to bother reading #2.

Interesting topic but poor narration
Revisado: 02-19-22
I found the subject matter interesting and that is why I persevered to the end. However I will not start any other book narrated by Traber Burns. He is too lack luster for me.

This book blew me away
Revisado: 09-28-20
I am a fan of Jodi Picoult’s but this book is her best so far. Her character development was outstanding and the description of the victims of the Holocaust had me in tears. While the ending was not a total surprise, the way she got to it left me satisfied. I highly recommend this book!
