Historia
Larry Krasner spent thirty years learning about America’s carceral system as a civil rights and criminal defense lawyer in Philadelphia, working to get some kind of justice for his clients in a broken system, before deciding that the way to truly transform the system was to get inside of it. So he launched an unlikely campaign to become the district attorney of Philadelphia, a city known for its long line of notorious “tough on crime” DAs who had turned Philly into a city with one of the highest rates of incarceration in the country.

Compelling story narrated as if we were sitting in the author’s living room
Revisado: 05-04-21
Larry Krasner brings you into his journey through the criminal justice system telling the stories of people it has impacted and how as a civil rights and criminal defense lawyer he ultimately realized that he had to go inside to change what had become an unjust and biased system. He describes how as a political outsider backed by other political outsiders, activists, and people who understood the need for change in their community they were able to win an election in a landslide. The narration is easy to listen to with great cadence and tone as if the author was sitting in your living room. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to understand the flaws in the criminal justice system through actual stories or for those who want to see how outsiders can go inside to make change for the people.
