NOBODY ACTS OR TALKS LIKE THIS!

I understand that every story requires at least a little "suspension of disbelief", but these characters are ridiculous! Everyone has a bad attitude and act like they hate one another. the only thing that kept me listening was the acting itself. it's produced well, but the story itself is just bad.
I did bump the rating by one star simply because it's free and only a few hours long.

The story lacks explanation. Character development and scene descriptions are so very confusing, it felt like the first half of the book was missing. The book is well written though, so I did get some enjoyment out of it. At least the parts that had context.

I bought this book because I really liked the first one, only to be disappointed with a lackluster story about Chinese espionage and Russian spies. I struggled through the book only because I had nothing else to listen to.
The book finally picked up in the last couple hours, only to be dulled down by sub par narration.
If you are looking for a book similar to the first one, with supernatural events and a very well written story, you'll be disappointed. At least I was.
