Historia
From his perspective in Renaissance Italy, Machiavelli's aim in this classic work was to resolve conflict with the ruling prince, Lorenzo de Medici. Machiavelli based his insights on the way people really are rather than an ideal of how they should be. This is the world's most famous master plan for seizing and holding power. Astonishing in its candor The Prince even today remains a disturbingly realistic and prophetic work on what it takes to be a prince, a king, or a president.

Excellent
Revisado: 07-22-21
I hesitated a long time before reading this book, thinking it would be a difficult read or that it would not resonate with me. Well... Machiavelli earned his place in our minds with a single work, “The Prince”: a shocking, rivetting and thought-provoking account of power politics in the Renaissance.
I couldn't be too wrong in saying that it's as fresh and relevant now as it was in the early 16th century.
Most conspicuous for his refusal to bow to either sentiment or idealism, this book outlines the practical reality of power

Historia
Set adrift by his pirate crew, Pocket of Dog Snogging - last seen in The Serpent of Venice - washes up on the sun-bleached shores of Greece, where he hopes to dazzle the Duke with his comedic brilliance and become his trusted fool. But the island is in turmoil. Egeus, the Duke’s minister, is furious that his daughter Hermia is determined to marry Demetrius, instead of Lysander, the man he has chosen for her. The Duke decrees that if, by the time of the wedding, Hermia still refuses to marry Lysander, she shall be executed...or consigned to a nunnery.

Good satire from C Moore
Revisado: 07-02-21
As a lover of Shakespeare and graduate of British literature, I always enjoy a good story even in modern times. Moore's satire is witty and enjoyable. I liked the end because it came with very good explanations for the author's personal choices regarding Shakespeare's worldview/characters. I, too, share some of the opinions he mentions.

Shy reporter Mr. Tibble is close to losing his job because he only writes about cats. But when an act of kindness brings him into contact with the unusual Miss Minou, his luck suddenly begins to change. Minou provides Tibble with juicy news. But it's who is giving her the gossip that's newsworthy. Minou claims that the tips come from her local feline friends, who are the eyes and ears of the neighborhood. Tibble is appreciative but can't help wondering: How could this be? And why is Minou so terrified of dogs and so skilled at climbing trees and rooftops?
