I’ve enjoyed every moment of this reading. They’re not right to did an outstanding job portrayed in the different characters. I could only wish they met a movie about this. I couldn’t put it down. I recommend this to all history, buffs, and old English in particular. Long live sir Lancelot.

Historia
In Morgan, noted biographer Jean Strouse creates the first complete portrait of a man who defined American commerce and banking. Contemporaries described J. Pierpoint Morgan as “the financial Moses of the New World.” She shows J.Pierpoint Morgan in the full context of his childhood and health, travels and tastes, personal affairs and business relationships. And through Nelson Runger’s thoughtful narration, this accessible biography becomes a fascinating audio production.

More about art than money
Revisado: 02-19-25
I started to listen to this book since I was interested in JPMorgan‘s life. I initially wanted to read this because I wanted to learn about JPMorgan the financier. The author went into a long list of art items and more about the person than how he managed the financial empire he created. Don’t get me wrong. It’s still a good book, but not what I was looking for as far as the narrator he did a good job so this is a solid four star.

Historia
Titan is the first full-length biography based on unrestricted access to Rockefeller’s exceptionally rich trove of papers. A landmark publication full of startling revelations, the book indelibly alters our image of this most enigmatic capitalist. Born the son of a flamboyant, bigamous snake-oil salesman and a pious, straitlaced mother, Rockefeller rose from rustic origins to become the world’s richest man by creating America’s most powerful and feared monopoly, Standard Oil. Branded "the Octopus" by legions of muckrakers, the trust refined and marketed nearly 90 percent of the oil produced in America.

I was enthralled by what this man did and how he did it. He was indeed a titan that did it his way. Few men have amassed what Rockefeller did. He is what capitalism is all about. America was made by men like him. This country would not exist without Rockefeller…

I stumbled into this reading and did not want to put it down. I enjoyed it while I was taking some walks. The Challenger presidential commission was a great read and learned that this was so close to what I was working on at the time. Reliability is just that a probability we should never forget as luces are at stake.

Good biography of General Patton
Revisado: 04-27-24
What I like about this book was portrayed human being with flaws. He was an old warrior thinking that he was destined for greatness. The greatness all about winning battles which she was good at them. His heroes were Alexander the Great, Napoleon that specialized in the Art of War strategies. His deficiencies made him think of ways to overcome them by overachieving in other areas like discipline, the use of profanity with the lower ranks. He was adored by his men and despised by higher officials. The latter put up because he delivered results!
A good read…

Andrew Roberts' Napoleon is the first one-volume biography to take advantage of the recent publication of Napoleon's thirty-three thousand letters, which radically transform our understanding of his character and motivation. At last we see him as he was: protean multitasker, decisive, surprisingly willing to forgive his enemies and his errant wife Josephine.

Long but a good detailed life of man bigger than life
Revisado: 10-26-23
I was looking forward to an account of this magnet. The reader was excellent with this nice British accent. Napoleon was a man bigger than Life, and such deserved a long book. He was an incredible strategist, and at the same time at the end, violated his own rules of war. I can see how Simon Bolivar took after Napoleon. I recommend the book by Marie Arana on the life of Bolivar who became the liberator of America. Enjoy listening to this narration it was worthwhile.

Historia
It is astonishing that Simón Bolívar, the great Liberator of South America, is not better known in the United States. He freed six countries from Spanish rule, traveled more than 75,000 miles on horseback to do so, and became the greatest figure in Latin American history. His life is epic, heroic, straight out of Hollywood: he fought battle after battle in punishing terrain, forged uncertain coalitions of competing forces and races, lost his beautiful wife soon after they married and died relatively young, uncertain whether his achievements would endure.

Bolivar comes to life
Revisado: 08-29-23
From the beginning I was enthralled by the narration of this great man’s life. Marie Arana documents Simón Bolivar as a prominent young aristocrat living in a Spanish colony and what shaped his anger towards the crown. Seeing the injustices of the royal empire in his native Venezuela lit the fire to wanting to liberate all of South America. He rallied all peoples to believe in his vision to kick the Spanish out of America. The narrator does a great job pronouncing all the names, places correctly. A must for your collection of Great War strategists!

Language defines us as a species, placing humans head and shoulders above even the most proficient animal communicators. But it also beguiles us with its endless mysteries, allowing us to ponder why different languages emerged, why there isn't simply a single language, how languages change over time and whether that's good or bad, and how languages die out and become extinct.
