Historia
Four US Navy SEALS departed one clear night in early July 2005 for the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border for a reconnaissance mission. Their task was to document the activity of an al Qaeda leader rumored to have a small army in a Taliban stronghold. Five days later, only one of those Navy SEALS made it out alive. This is the story of the only survivor of Operation Redwing, SEAL team leader Marcus Luttrell, and the extraordinary firefight that led to the largest loss of life in American Navy SEAL history.

AirPods in!
Revisado: 02-15-23
Much like when I read the book a while back, I couldn’t put the Audible away. I kept the AirPods in whenever possible to hear the story once more.
Many people reviewed this audio poorly based on the narrator’s emphasis and exaggerated variance of speech and characters. I found it comical during the humorous portions, engaging during the action, and touching throughout the emotional recounts of this mission and Marcus’ story.
Regardless of anyone’s personal views this is the story of one person and his views. We’d do well to accept that and appreciate the ability to make our choices and the freedom of diversity.
This book/ audio is truly amazing and captures the mind and heart of many that have served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations after 9/11.
I listened to this eight years after my own retirement from military service and my gratitude and connection to those with whom I served was renewed as well as the mentality I gained to always strive to be better and help people.
I recommend both the book and Audible version, and as I have done recently at times, both simultaneously.

Revisado: 12-08-22
I say gift because every time I get to hear Ed Mylett, wether in a video, podcast, or live, I’m always left with so many takeaways and actionable steps to grow and be better. That is a gift.
Ed has a gift of connection and sincerity with those he encounters. His passion to pour into people is nothing short of amazing.
This book can be a blueprint for life to anyone. From the successful person that has reached their goals in life to the young teen just learning how to navigate this world, there are lessons herein that should be used to mediate on and guide each of us. It’s definitely a top recommendation for me and will no doubt become a reread throughout my life.
Thank you Ed for taking the time to write this, and to record it with such authenticity, humility, and emotion.

Most people think success comes from good luck or enormous talent, but many successful people achieve their accomplishments in a simpler way: through self-discipline. Brian Tracy knows this firsthand. He didn’t graduate from high school, and after working for a few years as a laborer, he realized he had limited skills and a limited future. But through the power of self-discipline, he changed his life.

In my top five
Revisado: 05-08-22
This book was recommended to me by a good friend. Around chapter 2 I knew this would be a good listen. I was right, this is one of the best books I have ever read/heard.
I will be ordering this in print. This should be the blueprint for everyone for their life, relationships, parenting, health, fitness, mindset, just about anything else that we have control over.
The recording is done very well. It is engaging and easy to listen to. I definitely recommend this book.

Historia
If the wealth built by an entrepreneur isn’t empowering the life they want, they’re doing it wrong. True happiness is about spending time with the people who matter most, doing work they find to be meaningful, and being part of things bigger than themselves. Things that being an entrepreneur allows them to pursue better than anyone else, all while building enduring personal wealth for their family. Money can help them buy back their time and enable the life they want but monetary wealth alone isn’t enough.

Learn the King’s English
Revisado: 11-08-19
The story of The Richest Man in Babylon is amazingly educational, a best seller for decades. The book is a must read for anyone.
The narration however is very poor. The narrator mispronounces many of the words in the text. While they are small words that the intent can be deduced by the listener the distraction is still present and annoying. Some words are pronounced differently through the text also.
The pauses that typically are read at a comma in our modern writing are intended to be read slightly different and with emphasis at certain points. This doesn’t happen and makes the flow of the text very difficult to flow.
I recommend a re-record with one more versed in 19th century and prior English.
