Historia
Wolf of the North: It has been generations since the Northlands have seen a hero worthy of the title. Many have made the claim, but few have lived to defend it. Timid, weak, and bullied, Wulfric is as unlikely a candidate as there could be. Jorundyr's Path: Jorundyr's Path is walked only by the brave. As Wulfric pursues Adalhaid's Blood Debt, he soon learns that the path to revenge is never easy. The Blood Debt: A blade fit for a hero. An army for a tyrant. A reckoning long awaited, and a tale reaching its end.

2 Trilogy's completed looking for a 3rd
Revisado: 04-24-25
I've completed 2 Duncan M. Hamilton's trilogies: The Wolf of the North Trilogy and The Society of the Sword Trilogy. I have enjoyed these enough that I will be looking for more books by him. These 2 series take place in the same world created, and have very distant / far / vague references to what may have occurred. It is refreshing.

First 3 category 5 star rating in a long time.
Revisado: 03-19-25
This is my first all 3 category 5 star ratings in a long time. This was a fun set of book(s), that did a good job with pacing. It was good enough I bought an additional trilogy from this author when I was part way through the second book.

Very slow
Revisado: 02-14-25
The 2nd set of 3 books is quite slow. Also, there are 3 lesbian relationships to every traditional one. This seems to be written as a young adults (YA) book. The most sexual graphic so far has been kissing. The gore would be typical YA levels. The characters appear to have what I assume is the authors ideals. It doesn’t seem to fit so well with the story.

Historia
For millennia, the Weave, an alliance of species, have fought to resist the telepathic Amplitur, who strive to unite all self-aware life-forms in their great "Purpose." The Weave is slowly losing ground, but for both sides, warfare focuses more on outthinking and outmaneuvering your foe than destruction. In fact, most regard violence as hideously barbaric, and even the thought of harming another sentient being is beyond imagining.

Book 2 best, followed by 3 then 1
Revisado: 02-05-25
Book 1 was became rather annoying from the main human character being a broken repeating record.
Book 2 made me think I would enjoy getting more of the authors work.
Book 3 had a bit of a surprise ending. Not quite good enough that I will be seeking more books from this author at this time.

Fun book - details change in the series
Revisado: 01-10-25
Another fun book in the royal ranger series. The biggest discrepancy is in the first book Will takes on an apprentice … because that’s the only way they can get him to start doing his job and stop refusing assignments. In this book, Will takes on the job because he never refuses one.
It’s a light listen and helps if you don’t remember the details from the previous books.

This book captures the original fun of the rangers appreciate series… except the numerous time of “but she was a girl” or some form of that being said. This book did use that phrasing much less than its

Light hearted enough.
Revisado: 01-01-25
Fun book to listen to. The one thing that gets old very fast is how often the author goes on and on about how people doing think girls are not as capable as boys. So far that seems to be the main theme in all the books in this series.

Wont kill except when they do.
Revisado: 12-25-24
I’ve listened to over 20 of these books in this series and the original. This one is really bad about “knocking people out” with heads being hit with blunt objects. The willingness to kill the bad guys vs knocking them out to commit more crimes another day is just about enough to drive me batty. Otherwise it’s a fun listen if you don’t pay too close of attention to the details. This audio book also has a bonus short story at the end.
