Why they don't utilize Sandra's whining to jam?!

The MACRO intercommunication is beyond me. The person is totally worthless other than a s*x toy and does nothing but annoy me with her constant and total worthless whining. I hope she's a combat loss soon, but doubt it given the authors investment in her character.

If this one doesn't get better I'm done with the series.
Cant take her anymore.

Simply an amazing experience beautifully crafted

This is an amazing book- and perfectly executed. A very fine example of what Audible can be.

I am in awe of the beauty and skill in which it was crafted and presented. Very rarely am I moved anymore with fiction at my age, but this title did exactly that. It’s a love letter to days gone by, who we were as a people, why we fought so hard and what we lost individually for having done so. It’s an adventure story, it’s an alternate history, it’s so many threads in space and time and a masterful weave of all of them.

The presentation narrator was great. The intermingling of eras, sexes, and accents was spot on and very engaging.
I don’t review often, but I do consume Audible titles at a considerable rate and to be honest this is in my top two or three I’ve ever had the pleasure of being exposed to. I felt that THIS story needs to be known and heard and appreciated and so I write this.

If you are a fan of WW2 history, of detailed and lovingly crafted stories, of POSSIBILITY and duty above all this is for you.

Thank you for this work Mr. Boyett, Mr. Mitchroney and Mr. Andrews. It was truly a unique honor. To whomever is reading this- It is my belief this is VERY MUCH worth your time and attention.

MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED- I cannot rank it higher than 5 stars, but I’d give it 20 if I could.

Great Story questionable choice for voice talent

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, generally speaking. I'm into the series and had to do it. Other than that as a stand alone I probably would have continued on the strength of the story..PROBABLY.

What did you like best about this story?

Pacing, continuation immediately from the previous. A bit dated now with some of the players but that will happen. Not a negative from that perspective really.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Where to start. I'll struggle to say much different from the others but lets just put it this way: The narrator may be talented in other areas of art but this is not his cup of tea. NOT AT ALL. EVERY character sounded the same, whiny and angry. To the point I dad to work hard to delineate between any of them other than one, and surprise it was the most whiny and angry character in the book. THAT voice he was perfect for. VERY many technical words mispronounced - often, false excitement where not needed, false anger when not needed. Horrible rendition of the leads voice, totally wrong, Female characters were very very bad.

Will say after chapter 41-42 evened out some but this guy was a chore to listen to. Just not a good choice, and any good QC team would have caught this. Don't know what they were thinking.That said, I'm through it and its done.

If you are like me and are doing the series in total, this particular story is good. It fits well with the others but the narrator is a REAL chore to get through. Should earn a credit for getting through it from Audible for anyone that managed to.

Loved the story, and the performance by the voice talent is outstanding! If you are a fan of this series GET this installment for more great times. if you are considering the series start at book 1! if you are like me you will rocket through them all!

a good story

while not as good as the other tales of Thrawn, not a bad one either. seems like Mr Zahns voice of Thrawn changed from what it was to a more Antonio Bandaras like take which I didn't care for. I liked the previous cultured " English " portrayal of the lead character. Additionally some side characters were while well portraied, very annoying. all in all not horrible but not as good as other Thrawn tales.
