Stories that need to be told and taught
Revisado: 01-24-25
Women never get enough credit in general. Their stories have been lost throughout time.
I commend the author and look forward to more stories.

Historia
Set in Italy during World War II, this is the story of the incomparable, malingering bombardier Yossarian, a hero who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him. But his real problem is not the enemy - it is his own army, which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service. Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to excuse himself from the perilous missions he's assigned, he'll be in violation of Catch-22.

Frustratingly fantastic

I don’t know of a book that makes you laugh out loud as much as this one.
I compare all books to it.
The narrator’s exasperated yelling grates a bit, but most of the performance is good.

A fast-paced, rollicking, behind-the-scenes account of how the GOP since the 1950s has encouraged and exploited extremism, bigotry, and paranoia to gain power, American Psychosis offers listeners a brisk, can-you-believe-it journey through the netherworld of far-right irrationality and the Republican Party’s interactions with the darkest forces in America.

Connecting these dots is important
Revisado: 01-24-25
This is an excellent book. The short memory of our press, people, and politicians could learn from this book.
The con artist president and conned Americans have the press chasing so many disgraceful acts and smoke screens constantly putting out fires set by republicans and fanned by fox news and dubious social mediots it’s hard to see a happy ending. How much money and power do they need?
But hopefully Americans can rise above it like we have always done as shown in this work.

Historia
Contrary to the teachings of the church today, in the first several centuries of Christianity’s existence, there was no consensus as to who Jesus was or why he had mattered. Instead, there were many different Christs. One had a twin brother and traveled to India; another consorted with dragons. One particularly terrifying Christ scorned his parents and killed those who opposed him.

My faith is restored
Revisado: 01-24-25
This book summarizes some of the valuable history that has been lost or pushed to the fringes.
The author is brave. I respect her strength and humor because it is needed now more than ever.
The voices that were silenced should be heard. The revisionist history should be untwisted. The suppressed wisdom of introspection should be taught and passed on.
We need more authors investigating and writing books like this.

This narrator is great.
The story is nuts but completely entertaining.
Like most of Atwood’s work.

You will laugh or at least smile
Revisado: 01-24-25
A perfect unfolding of a summer listen. The story is funny. It’s a bit tragic. Slightly suspenseful.
I’ve made the mistake of trying to suffer through modern best sellers, but this book is better than 90% of them. It’s not even Atwood’s best work.
The narrator hits all the right notes and should be commended.
Atwood has the enjoyable ability to be in the moment, reflect and project in one sentence.
I know she’s the handmaid girl, but becoming familiar with all her works is worth it.
