So hard to get through with this narrator.
Revisado: 11-16-24
The stories were all great, but the narrator mispronounced soooo many words over and over and put weird inflections on the sentences and drew out her “s” sounds. I normally play my book for a few minutes after I lay down to go to sleep to unwind and my husband has never had an issue with a single book until this one. He couldn’t listen to this woman for even 5 minutes. It was rough.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Great story, super foul language
Revisado: 07-26-24
I really enjoyed the plot. Slightly predictable, but in a good way. The language used however, was tough. I have small children and this book definitely couldn’t be played anywhere near them. I like to listen to books while I make dinner, but can’t wear headphones because I’m listening for my little ones. So, that was a draw back. But other than the over use of the F work it was a fine book.

Historia
In this Audible Exclusive performance by Matt Lucas of Great Expectations, Charles Dickens demonstrates that conscience, loyalty and empathy are virtues far more valuable than intellect, wealth and social standing. First published in Dickens’ own periodical, All the Year Round, the novel was divided into nine monthly instalments, from December 1860 to August 1861. Unsurprisingly, it was an instant success and managed to sell over 100,000 copies per week. Though written at a challenging time in Dickens’ life, when the impending breakdown of his marriage loomed over him, Great Expectations proves to be one of his most optimistic, comical and romantic novels.

So much better as an adult
Revisado: 07-20-24
I had to read this is high school and it’s genius escaped me. This book was hilarious and also quite serious at the same time. Very artfully written. Easily one of my favorite classics.

Historia
More than two hundred times a second, around the world, questions about God's existence are being typed into search engines. Google alone provides nearly 4 million results to that single question. The topic of the existence of a Creator has enormous implications on our lives, including whether or not we have free will, if there's any such thing as an afterlife, and whether or not there's any basis for human morality. In Is God Real?, Lee Strobel pulls together material from his previous books to create this updated rational exploration of the proof of God's existence and the basis of our hope

He points out the inescapable truth of the existence of God
Revisado: 03-12-24
I found the beginning a little hard to follow since I am not a scientist but the message was never lost on me. I found the historical facts so amazingly compelling and the philosophical debate cement my faith in God almighty. My prayer is that this book finds its way into the hands and hearts of so many more people who can come to know God is real and he loves you.

Such an amazing story of truth and forgiveness
Revisado: 06-05-23
In a time when my heart needed to hear a story of forgiveness, this book was a soothing balm encouraging me to seek the Lord.
The only thing I will say is the voice the narrator chose to give Atretes grated on me.

The Arka have chosen their champion, and now he must lead them to the top of the world—The Spine, where the black mountains belch fire, and where the battle against cataclysm will take place upon the ice. As they travel north in a warship clad in iron, the Krauslung they leave behind is crumbling. Not under the onslaught of the girl and her daemons, but from within, under the force of greed and poisonous ambition. It seems there are too many battles to fight. Now, with the Sirens silent, the north in uproar, and the responsibility mounting, Emaneska's champion must face a choice.

Historia
In the wake of the Battle of Krauslung, the world has changed. For the darker. For the stranger. Magic swells like a storm, spilling from the stunned lips of farmboys and milkmaids, burning spell books to cinders at the lightest of touches. As Krauslung unknowingly balances on a knife-edge, tension mounts. Insidious whispers have begun to spread, drawing new enemies to the surface. Discontent, fear, betrayal...it seems that the girl is not the only enemy Emaneska faces.

Once there were 12, but loneliness fills the grand halls now that four of the girls' lives have been cut short. Disturbed by a series of ghostly visions, Annaleigh becomes increasingly suspicious that her sister's deaths were no accidents. Porn with a plot
Revisado: 03-09-22
I have read everything Sarah has written (multiple times) and I feel her books get more and more raunchy as time goes on. Sex scenes are fine with me, I’m no prude, but to me it feels like there’s just too much of it and it distracts from the actual plot. And I noticed she is getting bolder with her use of sexual terms. She never used to say cock or clit, but now they are some of her favorite words.
Still a very good story I will be reading the next one as well.

Historia
Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

Loved the book. The narrator messed up several times though.
Revisado: 05-27-21
I loved the book, but the narrator called the priestess analia, “princess analia” several times which confused me. And she called hawk “duke” at the rite (on accident) she also mispronounced several words and mixed words up. It didn’t ruin the book for me at all, just thought someone should point it out.
I will be downloading the second book, the story is really quite good.
