I have enjoyed every book in this series. The stories are a pleasant distraction from life's doldrums. Nothing too heavy yet not insulting to the intellect either.
Just good old fashioned fun narrated by one of my top five favorite female narrators! Thank you Annabel Chase. Thank you Meghan Kelly.

Not sorry that I listened and I'm not saying that the narrator is "bad." I don't think that she was the best choice to perform this series. I believe that i will read the series silently to myself.
IMO, the author did a fine job writing this UF for YA; I liked that. All the elements of a good story were in place and the story flowed nicely. There were a couple of times when I thought I knew for sure where she was going, then PLOT TWIST! That's a lot of fun. There was humor in this book that didn't play well or was downplayed entirely due to the narrator. Expect lots of action but not a lot of descriptive guts and gore. Blood, yes. Lots of blood. After all, we have vampires in "them there" pages. 😉 But they feed on the willing with out draining them dry. . . usually. My one slight disappointment was that I thought that the magical system was a bit loose, but interesting.

Amanda M. Lee: Still Batting 1000

One of my favorite series by one of my favorite "cozy" paranormal authors. A.M.L.'s stories and cast of characters are so fun. The mysterious loose ends haven't been tied up yet, though. Many surprises come with the plot twists and turns that this author does so well. I like the crossover with characters of her other series. The interaction between all the players adds character depth, is very funny, and advances the plot. I thought one of the most touching moments was when Scout and Poet hook back up. That was probably my favorite scene. Shout out to Meghan Kelly who does such a great job narrating the audiobooks. I'm going to re-listen to CAST THE FIRST CRONE right now. I can hardly wait for the next installment although wait, we must. I like that I can feel future bookS in the Spell's Angel's universe!

Can't Unhear & Won't Have To

Might be a very good story. I'll never know until I read it. The narrators' affected (?) NOLA accents are unlistenable; hers more than his, imo. It's obvious that they're truly trying to do a good read, though and that's the reason that I chose 2-☆'s for Performance instead of one. Really, I tried THREE times to get through this audio! May go for a fourth listen if I am ever feeling particularly masochistic. To be fair, I have loved these narrators for other series and have enthusiastically rated them with 5-☆'s. Gave 3-☆ rating for Overall and Story in hopeful benefit of the doubt as I have enjoyed other books by these authors.
