An excellent bittersweet addition to the Darke anthology
Revisado: 04-07-24
There is something very special about the way Mr. Wood combines the hearfelt humanity of his characters with the darkest aspects of human nature in the subject matter of his stories. Excellent… can’t wait to see what the next edition has in store… and always impeccable narration by Stephanie Beattie.

Nine months ago, DCI Matilda Darke survived a bullet to the head. The brutal attack claimed dozens of lives, including those she loved most, and the nightmares still plague her every waking thought. Now, she’s ready to get back on the job. But a new terror awaits. A woman is found murdered and her wounds look eerily similar to several cold cases. Desperate to find a lead, DCI Darke and her team must face a terrifying truth: a serial killer is on the loose in Sheffield.

Wow… Excellent continuation of Matilda’s story… Excellent narration from Stephanie Beattie. I had to scoop my jaw off of the floor several times and shed a few tears as well…. I was absolutely glued to this book (or headphones) beginning to end. One of my favorite listens this year.

I respectfully disagree with other reviews that dislike Marion’s narration, I thought it was wonderful. I have enjoyed each of the previous installments just as much and look forward to the next.

Just superb… again….
Revisado: 07-22-21
The DI Grimm series won me over from the very first line of the very first novel…. I feel invested in these characters and am so pleased to have found this author, this narrator and this series… The settings, the personalities and the storylines are intriguing and only build upon my devotion to them after each… I have relistened to each a few times over and just cherish them all. A narrator can make or break a audiobook for me (well-written or not) and Mr. Parsons does such an incredible job of bringing these characters to life…
Highly recommended

So good I lost sleep....
Revisado: 03-22-19
I lost sleep, lots of it.... There were not enough hours in the day available to me to plug in to this story but was so enthralled by it that I chose to lie in bed and listen in lieu of sleep every night for a week until I devoured it...
The story telling is top-notch, fresh ideas with the feel of a seasoned writer, intricate plot and awesome character development....I thoroughly enjoyed this and it has earned its place among my favorite epics.... and the narrator Christian Rodska, is phenomenal! So so good.....
