The story itself was believable and painted a bleak picture of their future but sewed in enough hope that just maybe they could survive.
I think the F word was used way too many times, it was unnecessary a little of the places.

The story itself was very interesting. Cunning, some places mentioned I’ve actually been up, The Rock of Gibraltar is rarely spoken of yet I knew what they were talking snout.
The woman who told the story was difficult to understand at times. Her voice was raspy and airy sounding. I wasn’t fond of her voice.

The voice fluctuations used by the reader were very distinct. It helped to hear the different characters speak with their own voice. The details of each character rang consistent through the book.
Having visited Paris helped me to revisit in my minds eye seeing the city from a different perspective.great book, will look for more of this authors books.

Brilliant to incorporate a piece of history into the scenario

Adding President Carter’s legacy for his involvement in Habitat for Humanity was a great touch in this book. A nugget from the past if you will. Each chapter had a totally unexpected turn. Abundant unclaimed waterfront property on the water? Building your dream home? Unencumbered, what a life.
