This is set in a time period in which DACA did not exist and when the author was in limbo status. He talks about how he dealt with this.

My Opi: I had no idea who this person was until now in Dec. 2020 amid the covid crisis. I even forgot why or how I got this audible book. The story is so complex and emtionally exhausting, but I want to listen again. By listening a second time I hope to remember all those good questions he asked and try to come up with answers and analyze how I come to those answers. I also hope that in the future that immigration is no longer a political issue that renders children abandoned and families torn apart. I feel lucky that never happened to me, but I could relate to the quiet secret anger over the limbo status before DACA

My favorite part was the bar scene after the driving test.
The "brigadir"? is great. I'm glad things were sorted out with "Latrine" hahahaha and I Love tomatoes. please do craft another series. The neighbors are hilarious with their gross changing baby voices. haha oh and the murderer driving teacher is chillingly funny. the voice actor did a great job with the creepiness. I'm so glad Jo is such a great friend as well as Dan.

There were so many memorable funny moments. The halitosis guy is disgusting and its great favor she did to the world. Dan might be on to something about the phone incident was really CONvenient. XD hahahaha. Gary was such a lame character, but great how he was handled. Thanks for shaming those who pretend not to shame but actually shame in this guise of "for their health"

Loved it. The narrator did her best to portray different people. I really sympathized with the characters. I cried twice for the two diferrent species. At first it is dull and uninteresting due to the arrogant one, but it gets better after the two main species characters are introduced.
