Good science book
Revisado: 07-12-20
What it is: A well written, interesting academic book of real-world science framed in a loose discworld narrative with occasional comparisons to discworld physics.
What it isn't: An explanation of discworld science or a well developed story.
I play this when I'm doing mindless tasks like cooking or soldering. I love the discworld series and while it's not a lot of new information for me, the way it's all framed and the perspective it provides really makes me think and consider things in new ways. The narrative is not bad but it's nothing special... kind of like the plot of a science video in school where it just provides an introduction to the next bit of info and pulls you in if you start to drift.
Overall I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in listening to summaries of real-world scientific concepts from quantum mechanics to the makeup of the solar system to the development of life. It's like an entire high school level general science course but much more interesting.

Historia
Cult of the Dead Cow is the tale of the oldest, most respected, and most famous American hacking group of all time. Though until now it has remained mostly anonymous, its members invented the concept of hacktivism. Today, the group and its followers are battling electoral misinformation, making personal data safer, and battling to keep technology a force for good instead of for surveillance and oppression. Cult of the Dead Cow shows how governments, corporations, and criminals came to hold immense power over individuals and how we can fight back against them.

Contains a lot of very interesting information. Slightly dry in the middle. Would definitely recommend.
