Historia
It began in Ireland in the mid 1700s. The water in Ireland, indeed throughout Europe, was famously undrinkable, and the gin and whiskey that took its place devastated civil society. It was a disease ridden, starvation-plagued, alcoholic age, and Christians like Arthur Guinness—as well as monks and even evangelical churches—brewed beer that provided a healthier alternative to the poisonous waters and liquors of the times. This is where the Guinness tale began.

Another great informative book on the Good of Guinness!
Revisado: 02-16-25
Loved the narrator! With how much historical Information there was, it was an easy listen and went by faster than I expected. I will say tho, that I appreciate the free audible book “The Goodness of Guinness” all the more. However, there are tidbits in this novel that aren’t in that one so still worth the listen. Would recommend!

Historia
The Gospel costs nothing. You can't earn it or buy it. It can only be received as a free gift compliments of God's grace. It doesn't cost anything, but it demands everything. It demands that we go "all in," a term that simply means placing all that you have into God's hands. Pushing it all in. And that's where we get stuck - spiritual no man's land. We're afraid that if we go all in that we might miss out on what this life has to offer. It's not true. The only thing you'll miss out on is everything God has to offer.

Truth- straight and to the point
Revisado: 11-16-22
Mark Batterson strikes again! This author has a full understanding of how to simplify life, in such a way that honors the purpose of why we are here. We are the ones who over complicate everything, and God has made it simple… As Mr. Batterson put it so well, ” you are one decision away from completely changing your life.” The only thing I didn’t love about this book was that I prefer the actual author to read it. There’s more passion in Batterson’s voice.

Revisado: 05-25-22
I own a small business and the hardest things are hiring and especially firing. But the truths in this book about the importance of one thing ending so something new and good can begin, resonate beyond business. Every relationship with another human being should follow the articulate principles that Dr. Henry cloud has laid out here. Thank you Dr. cloud for helping me have the courage to what I need to do next to move forward for what God has intended for me. God bless you sir.

True-Wonderful-Life Giving and leaves a desire to dive deeper
Revisado: 04-10-22
I think I expressed everything in the headline. As expected, Christy nailed it. As a very busy entrepreneur in a crazy season in life where I am supposed to lead other but can’t seem to get it together myself, this book was a great help. Both comforting and convicting at the same time. I am excited to listen to it again at a slower pace to go through the workbook and really dive in to apply these true and effective principles to my entire life. Cheers Christy and thank you!!

Simple yet inspiring
Revisado: 02-04-22
This book nails the main topics of becoming a Life giving leader. A lot of them seem like a ‘no duh’ but they are very much what leaders need to hear (again and again). It is an encouraging book for anyone seeking to lead like Jesus.

It is powerful to hear the reality of the experience of true grief, especially through the thought process of CS Lewis. It is also a good listen for those who desire to help those who have also had these experiences.

Messy but indeed Truth with Grace
Revisado: 12-12-21
The author is correct when he delves into the struggle of truth and grace… really only Jesus reconciled these two concepts together. However, that means we have a wonderful example of how to do this. Caleb does a wonderful job not taking sides but rather expressing how important it is that those who love God express love towards one another in a tactful and prudent manner without the sacrificing their conviction of belief. This a great guide on how to love those you may disagree with on tense topics. Thanks Caleb for attempting to teach us to love well.

Purpose for why we work
Revisado: 07-25-21
Timothy Keller nailed it. This whole ‘work life balance’ that the world pushes on us is
Inaccurate to our purpose and creation. Mr. Keller accurately paints the picture of true fulfillment through working as if for the Glory of God.
