Tomboy: A Jane Benjamin Novel by Shelley Blanton-Stroud was a very well-written and well-narrated Historical Thriller. I really enjoyed the narration as it allowed me to close my eyes and create a picture of the characters and story in my head while I listened. I really liked Jane Benjamon and I felt for her dilemma in deciding if she should write a social bombshell column, personally damaging her new friend Tommie’s persona and career, or uncover the truth of Coach’s death.

The Sniggard's Revenge: A Fantasy Adventure by Jeff Chapman was a well written and well narrated audiobook that I greatly enjoyed! I found myself quite taken with Ethan and I liked how his plan to impress the girl backfired into an abduction and a needed rescue!

A Tale of Heroes (Omnibus Edition) by Mark Hansen and Narrated by: Andrew McDermott was a great book and an even better audiobook. I quite enjoyed the fact that this audiobook contained the whole series in one. I really liked DeFrantis and Thissraelle. While I enjoyed all three books, book one was my favorite I just really enjoyed listening to the narrator bring DeFrantis to life for me.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

Shadow of Murder (A Mac Faraday Mystery Book 14) by Lauren Carr was amazing! I can not believe that this series already has 14 books in it and that I have read them all! While it is truly hard to pick a favorite I have to say that this one is probably my favorite (so far). I liked seeing Deputy Chief Dusty O’Meara as the lead of the murder, especially since it was his first one to solve. I really liked the way he interacted with the different characters like Mac and Gnarly as well as the addition of blogger Erica Hart.

Historia
It’s a bittersweet reunion for Mac Faraday when members of his former homicide squad arrive at the Spencer Inn. While it is sweet to attend the wedding of the daughter of a former colleague, it is a bitter reminder that the mother of the bride had been the victim of a double homicide on her own wedding night. The brutal slaying weighing heavy on his mind, Mac is anxious to explore every possibility for a break in the cold case - even a suggestion from disgraced former detective Louis Gannon that one of their former colleagues was the killer.

Crimes Past (A Mac Faraday Mystery Book 13) by Lauren Carr was a great audio book. I recently took a car trip and I listened to this audiobook during the entire drive! The narration was top notch and the story was even better than the last one in the series! I really liked that the cold case Mac dived into for this one came from the family of one of his former homicide squad members. It was cool getting to read about Mac's former squadmates and I love the dynamics that came with it!

Historia
When the political parties force-feed two unsavory mayoral nominees to the town's residents, David O'Callaghan decides to make a statement - by nominating Gnarly, Mac Faraday's German shepherd, to run for mayor of Spencer! What starts out as a joke turns into a disaster when overnight, Gnarly becomes the frontrunner, and his political opponents proceed to dig into the canine's past. When one of the mayoral candidates ends up dead, it becomes apparent that slinging mud is not enough for someone with a stake in this election.

I enjoyed reading this novel. Unlike other murder mysteries it was not filled with nudity, sexual content, bad language, or gore. This novel is a murder mystery that children getting into murder mysteries can enjoy. I personally would recommend this book to those 12 and older simply because of the length of the book and the complicated plot. However this book would be suitable for mature younger children if an adult was reading it to them. I enjoyed the added aspect of a k-9 dog to the murder mystery. I liked the author's writing style and felt that she did an amazing job spinning a tale of murder without adult concepts.

Open Season for Murder by Lauren Carr was a great addition to eh series!! James C. Lewis did a simply phenomenal job with the narration especially as he went between the different characters' voices. I really liked the way a cold case was used and how someone invited a bunch of people connected to the case to the Diablo Ball. It made me keep listening to find out who invited them, if the victim was actually dead, and how Mac would solve the case!

A Wedding and a Killing by Lauren Carr is the eighth book in the series and it was another great fit with the rest of the series! In this on Mac Faraday and Archie Monday, decide to elope at a church where his ancestors had all gotten married, however, Gnarly's finding of a dead body puts a kink in the plans of holy matrimony. I really enjoyed the wedding theme of this one and the role that Gnarly played!

Twelve to Murder by Lauren Carr is the seventh book in the A Mac Faraday Mystery series and it was a great addition to the series. Recently I have been listening to a lot of audio books in this series and so far this one is my current favorite of the series. I just really liked the quirky storyline and the way it made me laugh while also keeping me invested in trying to figure out the mystery!
