Historia
When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate - he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in 19th-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

however, this was a good ghost story! hard core a haunting of hill house vibes at the start but slowly grooves into it's own story. Such a creepy atmosphere at first which was pleasantly surprising for Harper.
if you love Harper's stories, I still think it's worth the listen!

Historia
Shadowvale isn’t your typical small-town America. The sun never shines, the gates decide who enters, magic abounds, and every resident bears some kind of curse. Exiled king of the goblins Robin Gallow has no choice but to live in Shadowvale. That was the deal he made with his ex-wife and current queen of the goblins in exchange for the antidote to the poison she gave him. Now, the town has become his prison, and his world is closing in on him. It’s enough to drive a man insane.

Historia
Known throughout Tennessee as "Old Kate", the Bell Witch took up residence with John Bell's family in 1818. It was a cruel and noisy spirit, given to knocking and gnawing sounds before finding its own voices. With these voices and supernatural acts, the Bell Witch tormented the Bell family. The extraordinary tale recounts the only documented case in U.S. History when a spirit "actually caused a man's death".

Secluded at his cottage in the woods, Gideon instructs Bess in the Craft, awakening formidable powers she didn’t know she had and making her immortal. This Was Amazing!
Revisado: 01-16-16
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes I totally did! This book. I love the way she wrote it. I had no idea what i was getting myself into. She has us check out really four different parts of her life. The present and than three stories. Though a good amount was shocking and gorey even, I though it was described in a way that was not judging but was. It is in the past and there was nothing she could do to change somethings. I have a lot of different books going on at the moment and after i finish some i am going to sink my teeth into all of Paula's work.
Any additional comments?
I love in the end this is about love and how unending it can be. Not always the pure love from story books, but one that is so complete that, and someways it is what everyone wants (wait until the end to judge me on that)

Had to read this for class!
Revisado: 09-11-15
Have you listened to any of Peter Francis James’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I loved his voice.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Oh god no. Too much to take in at once.
Any additional comments?
I would never had read this book if it were not for my Lit class. I am so happy that I did. The story is about a Tribe in Africa before they were invited. There is some much foreshadowing and irony that it was very enjoy to try and guess what would happen next. After finishing the book I can see the ending coming a mile away. But until is happens.... wow. This was so good!

Not Bad...

Any additional comments?
I thought that story was alright but Cathy Dobson's voice was too happy and sing-songy... I was looking for more of a horror story, and I ended up sympathizing with the Monster and wanting to kill Dr. Frank myself...

I gave it a shot...
Revisado: 04-21-15
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I was really disappointed. This is the only Jane Austen book that I have not finished. The story itself... *sigh* it's kinda reminded me of a 14 girl that has been praised for her amazing singing voice and goes on American Idol only to get laughed off stage. It was just long and boring, and I just couldn't stay with it.
