not a pro Mao take
Revisado: 02-24-23
how hard is it just to state facts in chronological order and let people decide for themselves if he had merit or not. On paper the only difference between Mao and Alexander the great was Mao attacked people in his own country.

Historia
You Can’t Be Serious is a series of funny, consequential, awkward, and ridiculous stories from Kal Penn’s idiosyncratic life. It’s about being the grandson of Gandhian freedom fighters, and the son of immigrant parents: people who came to this country with very little and went very far—and whose vision of the American dream probably never included their son sliding off an oiled-up naked woman in the raunchy Ryan Reynolds movie Van Wilder…or getting a phone call from Air Force One as Kal flew with the country’s first Black president.

kinda weird
Revisado: 10-28-22
I liked the book overall, it's just really weird to read about how bringing in a diverse team of people with all sexual orientations overshadowed the millions of deportations and thousands of drone strikes Obama carried out. Obama killed far more people than the Iraq War did. but anyone being allowed to boot lick and murder for the government is progress your proud of? shill

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Great stories and some bad takes.
Revisado: 10-16-22
He re tels stories of himself and other historical figures. His vocabulary and writing are excellent. His appreciation of hard work is partially admirable, what he believes hard work entitles you too in regards to women is gross. If he wrote this 5 years earlier it would be a better book. If he wrote this book today it would be un readable. rip Joan rivers

Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place. Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries. The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes.

Historia
State and Revolution (1917) describes the role of the state in society, the necessity of proletarian revolution, and the theoretic inadequacies of social democracy in achieving revolution. It describes the inherent nature of the state as a tool for class oppression, a creation born of one social class' desire to control all other social classes. Whether a dictatorship or a democracy, the state remains in the control of the ruling class.

Humiliated in the ruins of Imperial Ithos, with the Exile Splinter stolen from their grasp by the ancient sphinx Kanderon Crux, Havath's Duarchs have assembled an army that dwarfs the entire population of Skyhold. Led by their Great Powers, monsters and mages individually capable of leveling a city, they pose a threat that even Kanderon, one of the mightiest of Great Powers, and her equally monstrous allies might be unable to stop. As the Havathi forces push closer and closer to Skyhold, Hugh and his friends train relentlessly, hoping to make a difference in the oncoming siege.

wasn't for me
Revisado: 08-06-21
I listen to the 1st 2 ,5 or 6 times a year. I absolutely hate when an author gets bored being successful and wants to be known for range they don't have. what the serious fuck did you just do? and for the rack? you could have been an open minded Robert Howard and you aim for being a sanderson anyway. He actually has a plan.
