Historia
Where Have I Been All My Life? is a compelling memoir recounting one woman’s journey through grief and a profound feeling of unworthiness to wholeness and healing. It begins with the chillingly sudden death of Rice’s mother, and is followed by her foray into the center of mourning.

I could so much relate to the grief in losing my own mother.

Courage to tell your story but zero actual path forward
Revisado: 03-06-25
This isn’t really self help… it’s just a story about her life. She was brave to tell her story but it’s definitely a memoir, not advice or self help. Eh don’t pay for it

Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

I don’t have the words in this moment but thank you for writing this book. It made me laugh, cry, drink, declare that I will better myself, and write to my buddies (and lady buddies) I had a welcome home. I was thanked, my heart hurts for the women of Vietnam and I wish I could thank them for paving the way for me and for being so brave to do the work to make it a better world for me. Looks like a found a few words after all… thank you

The author has a great voice and was very easy to listen to! His info is amazing, though terrifying! I looked for an IG and FB to follow and didn’t find one. I’ll keep looking! Keep up the work, I shared the book on Fb and a friend had just heard you on a podcast! Thank you

A little disappointed
Revisado: 10-09-22
I am obsessed with her other book and preordered this one and binged it so fast. While I like the principles, I just don’t think it’s what I was hoping for. I thought it would be about going on adventures and wholesome family experiences and how to be that family. I found that it was more about virtues and stuff, which I liked but it just left me wanting more… more wild and free. The first book changed my life and I’ll forever love her for it. Maybe I’ll reread this one with different ears.
