Just can't do it.
Revisado: 11-16-23
This is a first, I finish books good or bad. I commute 2 hrs a day and audio is the best. The first story lacked mystery, detail and talked down to those of us over 60 as if we are slow. Went forward with the second book and it was not any better. Think Jessica Fletcher at a 3rd grade level. Will break my rule of finishing and move on.

I love this authors work typically, 9 perfect srangers was great. i purchased the audio book, if I could return for a refund I would. I listened to 4 of 15 hours, that was tough to do. The story had no depth, so much circumstantial information I just wanted to yell "get to the point using fewer words". The narrator was mediocre. Characters have no depth and simply not interesting no matter how many words are used.

Historia
Samantha Moore is, to say the least, bookish. An English major of the highest order, her diet has always been Austen, Dickens, and Shakespeare. The problem is, both her prose and conversation tend to be more Elizabeth Bennet than Samantha Moore. But life for the 23-year-old orphan is about to get stranger than fiction.

If there’s anything they can count on, it’s each other. Clementine and Erika are each other’s oldest friends. A single look between them can convey an entire conversation. But theirs is a complicated relationship, so when Erika mentions a last minute invitation to a barbecue with her neighbors, Tiffany and Vid, Clementine and Sam don’t hesitate.

Not up to her standards
Revisado: 01-22-21
Loved it, no. very, very long book. purchased it on audio and it was over 17 hours. Narration was excellent, however I kept waiting for a thread. Yes the characters could be interesting and somwhat engaging yet I failed to see a story that engaged me as with previous books. honestly I completed the book only because I finsh every book I start and the end might redeem the book. this book did not.

Not the quality of writing I expect from Barbara. The book had a great plot, great story however it was drawn out with needless filler. I enjoy a good romance scene as anyone, however there were so many I found myself fast forwarding as they dragged on and on.

not as good
Revisado: 06-02-20
I have followed this series and found this book to be not as good. There were a couple of instances of poor editing where a character would say one thing and a few chapters later refer to the same event differently, however this also occurred in the last book. This book spent a great deal of time talking and educating about sleep apnea. It was out of place and not consistent with the story. In a previous book Lisa also had a medical condition however it was mentioned and the details, symptoms, management, etc. were not part of the story. It read as if the author or a family member was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. Honestly I got tired of hearing about it. Out of place.
