His conclusions:
US Republicans=fascism;
History=fascism;
Nationalism=fascism;
Sexism=fascism;
Patriarchy=fascism:
Racism=fascism;
Xenophobia=fascism;
Anti-labor=fascism;
Corporate hierarchy=fascism....I think you get my point.

The author has attempted to redefine fascism to encompass a very wide range of topics that deviate from the traditional definition. He spends little time discussing the two truly fascist regimes (except to equate US Republicans and totalitarian leaders with Hitler) and identifies leaders such as Putin, Orban, Erdogan and...of course....Trump as fascists, when they are not. The majority of the book's discussion of "us vs. them" should reallly read..."US white men vs. blacks"...it reads like a piece of CRT. A poor book to expand one's understanding of fascism. I would recommend the reader seek Paxton's work and skip this propaganda.

Disguised as an Acedemic Book

This book is best characterized as a rant vs. a cogent academic analysis. His conclusion, democracy can only be saved if it is reinenforced or is altered to generate the outcomes he desires. Very disappointed Mr. Fukuyama recommended this book.
