Historia
A widow with a small army of suitors, Aurora Greenway loves the limelight. She’s got three grandchildren whom she adores (in small doses) and her son-in-law Flap, whom she’s not really crazy about. And there’s her daughter Emma. In some ways, Emma is all there ever was. Now, there’s little time left to say the things that need to be said.

Nothing good here
Revisado: 10-04-17
This book was a complete waste of time. It promotes and normalises casual domestic violence and female subjugation.

Historia
At the center of Middlemarch is Dorothea Brooke, a thoughtful and idealistic young woman determined to make a difference with her life. Enamored of a man who she believes is setting this example, she traps herself into a loveless marriage. Her parallel is Tertius Lydgate, a young doctor from the city whose passionate ambition to spread the new science of medicine is complicated by his love for the wrong woman.

Charming
Revisado: 08-27-12
I really enjoyed the experience of listening to this classic. I was engaged in the story, cared about the characters and laughed out loud at some of George's descriptions of her protagonists. I had tried to read this book long ago and gave up. Listening to the story was such a different delightful experience.

Historia
A Room with a View portrays the love of a British woman for an expatriate living in Italy, a country which to Forster represents the forces of true passion. Caught up in a world of social snobbery, Forster's heroine, Lucy Honeychurch, finds herself constrained by the claustrophobic influence of her British guardians, who encourage her to take up with a well-connected boor.

An old favourite
Revisado: 05-28-12
The story is fine but the narration is too over the top. I haven't listened to the whole book because I just found the voice way too annoying.

Historia
Humanity pushed its way to the stars—and encountered the Gbaba, a ruthless alien race that nearly wiped us out. Earth and her colonies are now smoldering ruins, and the few survivors have fled to distant, Earth-like Safehold, to try to rebuild. But the Gbaba can detect the emissions of an industrial civilization, so the human rulers of Safehold have taken extraordinary measures: with mind control and hidden high technology, they've built a religion in which every Safeholdian believes, a religion designed to keep Safehold society medieval forever.

confused
Revisado: 10-25-11
Don’t bother with this unless you are inclined to listen to details of baseball, ship building and the construction of weapons. I am giving up, laying down my earbuds and giving my ears a rest. The story was confused and difficult to care about. Huge gaps and leaps didn’t help me to follow or really understand this story. It might have worked if the editor had taken to it with a big red pen. I’ve just wasted a credit.
