This was a tough one for me. I had to force myself to finish it. Typically I really enjoy this author’s work. I liked the previous books in this series. I know she took on a different approach with other aliens of a different galaxy. If you are way into master/pet kink this one is for you. That is not my normal read. So keep that in mind. Much of the book is super uncomfortable for me as I can’t get over how degrading it comes across. I know in the end the female lead comes to enjoy it but for me as reader it was way cringy.

If that was the only thing I would have rated the book higher while just really recommending this for those who enjoy bondage, spanking, exhibitionisms, etc. The other issue I had was the lead characters are not too likable. Lacked character building for the male and the female literally had no character other than “sassy” but stupid. The male was condescending but that fit with the book theme. The female just did so many stupid things. Plus she seemed to not know herself and was weak in general. I’m guessing that comes in handy for a submissive but I couldn’t get past her being so stupid. She literally gets herself almost killed more than once now I get being in a situation where the character is in a situation by no fault of their own and are smart to figure ways around how to survive. This female lead came across as almost too stupid to live. She in the end gave up everything and the male literally gave up nothing. She leaves her family with little thought even though her entire drive was to get back home to her family especially her mom. She literally had an orgasm and was like cya mom. lol. It would have been nice to have closed it out where she could still have a relationship with her family. But that’s just small things. To me the female just killed the book for me.

I would rate it lower but I like the authors other works and while I don’t like the book for its kink it’s not terribly written so with that I give it 3 stars. It would have been nice to cut a bit of the kink and add more world building. The narration was ok as well. I will never listen to this story again. Again if your kink interests align with pet:master this is totally for you. If this is not your vibe I would skip this one as the book is long and 2/3 of the book is 24/7 kink.

Hard to finish

I really tried to like this book. So many problems. First the h is too stupid to live. I have never read a story where the main female was so annoying and stupid before in my life. I wished for her death a points. I don’t understand how the main male character could stand her. She was not lovable at all. She was entitled and almost caused not only her death but the male lead. It’s almost offensive how bad she was. I am not even sure if I can finish it.

The narrator was ok not too bad overall the Batman voice for the male lead was a bit unnerving but if the story was good I could have gotten past it.

The story itself could have been interesting but the lead was too distracting this I couldn’t connect with the characters making the sex scenes uncomfortable. At this point to finish the story I’m fast forwarding through a lot.

If you are a fan on insipid, weak willed, entitled, female leads this one is for you. If not give it a pass.

My Kind Of Story

If you like a little crazy with your story you will love this series. The characters are memorable and developed even through their quirks. I like that the women are strong but still nuts. Nothing is more annoying is having stupid weak characters. The ladies in this series are far from it. If you've read any of Shelly Laurenston's other books an enjoyed them you will like this one. She has a great ability to write well rounded characters and make you chuckle while reading. Overall really well done. The only thing that would make it better if it was narrated by two readers. Traci did a great job with the women and the men were good but having a distinctive male voice would take it out of the park. I say this not saying Traci was bad not at all I have listen to other books where one narrator read for both voices and could not distinguish between the two. Or even worse they are mono-toned. Traci brought personality to each character.

What can I say. The woman was annoying. She is supposed to be a scientist but behaved like an idiot. A bit more character development would be nice. More story instead of just filling the book with sex scenes.

Overall a dud. Narrator is so so. But pretty bland throughout. Didn’t matter if something exciting was happening or not it sounded the same. The characters were really stupid and not very well developed.

Heroine weak

The heroine is super weak. Her thought process baffled me and I wondered how she survived her whole life. I could not find redeeming qualities. So your brother abuses you and Basically sells you off to his club leader but you choose to go back even though you have no assurances you won't get raped or killed. But by all means be mad at the guy who helped you and did not require anything from you. Totally choose not to believe him but trust the guy who lied to you your whole life. Ummm no thanks.

Awesome series

The book is great but the reader is amazing. The various voice gave every character life and personality.
