I was guessing until the very end. Great story and wonderful narrator. Hoping romance continues to bloom… ;-)

A grey area where good people are forced to do bad things is where we get to know our heroine. Millie is desperate to restore her family name and receives the unfair burden from her parents to undo the damage done to the family name by an older sister’s elopement. In a deal with a conniving society miss, Millie must report secrets to exact revenge on those who have embarrassed the elite. As Millie gets to know her assignment, Sir Isaac, she must decide once and for all if she stands on the side of good or evil.
I enjoyed this story and the character development. I loved the relationship Millie had with her maid and how they share a friendship so rare of the time. I enjoyed learning about the rare wood and ink art Millie enjoys and I loved that Sarah, (the maid) tats! Tatting is a dying art and it was such a fun detail to have in the book as I practice the art of lace-making as well!
This book is worth a read and will make you smile during many scenes. I love Sally Britton’s way with words. The narrator for the Audible version does a fantastic job and with her many different intonations I could clearly keep the characters straight.

Miss Devon, Rebecca is such a strong character. Although severely oppressed by her father and bitter aunt, she is not beaten down. I appreciate that she makes her own choices where she can, even if it the choice to make the best of an arranged marriage. How we choose to act or react is so important!
The narrator was wonderful and a great choice to read Sally Britton’s wonderful story.

I have read Edenbrooke so many times that I broke the spine on my original paperback copy. I bought the hardback version and was happy to see it on Audible. However, I do not like this audio version. The narration was awful and I had such a hard time listening to it. It makes me so sad that my favorite book has been done such a disservice! I didn’t realize that I could have exchanged this book and probably would have if I had known. Do yourselves a favor and buy a print copy, completely avoiding this audio version.

I liked this book and the escape to another time. I both enjoyed and was frustrated at the social constraints of the time in speaking one’s mind. The author did a marvelous job at making us hang on the edge of our seats to when the characters would finally come forth with their feelings! I liked learning of additional Christmas holidays mentioned in this story.
The narrator was wonderful and I enjoyed her pleasant voice.

I enjoyed this latest installment of the Inglewood series. Hope is desperate for an adventure and so assumes her sister’s identity to travel to the Caribbean with family friends. Shipwrecked on a tiny island, their small party must rely on the knowledge of a man who’s had to survive there for the 14 previous months. I loved the budding romance and the discovery of being true to yourself vs. conform to society’s dictates. Sally Britton is an amazing storyteller.
The narrator was superb! The accents of various characters were done so well!

A beautiful story

I love Sally Britton’s way with words. Her methods of storytelling are so enveloping that I feel a friendship with her characters. His Unexpected Heiress was a lovely story of kindness and triumph and the universal truth that goodness will always squash out evil. I found myself teary when the main character told of her ward’s background (which was awkward while listening at the gym!) I lingered far too long in my garage listening in the car during the beautiful lighthouse scene. This book made me smile and vow to be a better person because of the goodness that the main character inspired in all those around her.
The narrator did a marvelous job in reading this story. Her voice was soothing and pleasant; a perfect match for this book. I encourage you to read (or listen to) His Unexpected Heiress!
