Historia
The many lives of theoretical physicist Elsie Hannaway have finally caught up with her. By day, she’s an adjunct professor, toiling away at grading labs and teaching thermodynamics in the hopes of landing tenure. By other day, Elsie makes up for her non-existent paycheck by offering her services as a fake girlfriend, tapping into her expertly honed people-pleasing skills to embody whichever version of herself the client needs. Honestly, it’s a pretty sweet gig—until her carefully constructed Elsie-verse comes crashing down.

Great story! I was sad when it was over. I loved Jack’s intense love and dedication for and to Elsie. I could do without all the political references. Again, not here for that - just here for good stories and love!

Historia
With a play opening on Broadway, and every reason to smile, Sarah Ruhl has just survived a high-risk pregnancy when she discovers the left side of her face is completely paralyzed. She is assured that 90 percent of Bell’s palsy patients experience a full recovery—like Ruhl’s own mother. But Sarah is in the unlucky ten percent. And for a woman, wife, mother, and artist working in theater, the paralysis and the disconnect between the interior and exterior brings significant and specific challenges.

Historia
Mallory Greenleaf is done with chess. Every move counts nowadays; after the sport led to the destruction of her family four years earlier, Mallory’s focus is on her mom, her sisters, and the dead-end job that keeps the lights on. That is, until she begrudgingly agrees to play in one last charity tournament and inadvertently wipes the board with notorious “Kingkiller” Nolan Sawyer: current world champion and reigning Bad Boy of chess.

Unusual plot!
Revisado: 04-02-25
I loved most of the story! The generosity of Nolan and his straightforwardness were refreshing. I don’t love how every single author has to include gay characters or interracial couples. I know that makes me sound bad, but I’m not here to listen to main characters be bisexual or gay. It’s just not necessary in every single book! I’ve come to believe it’s a requirement, but regardless, I loved the story!

Ryot Bisley is my husband. Yes, the former third baseman for the Chicago Rebels and absolute heartthrob of the Windy City. That Ryot Bisley. The first time I ran into him, he was grumpy, a horrific host, and left me on his sofa with nothing but a nylon baseball flag to use as a blanket.

Overall, a great love story, but Myla did get super mean at one point and annoying for sure. Would still recommend the book.

Historia
When NASA sent astronauts to the moon in the 1960s and 1970s the agency excluded women from the corps, arguing that only military test pilots—made up exclusively of men—had the right stuff. It was an era in which women were steered away from jobs in science and deemed unqualified for space flight. Eventually, though, NASA recognized its blunder and opened the application process to a wider array of hopefuls, regardless of race or gender. From a candidate pool of 8,000 six elite women were selected in 1978—Sally Ride, Judy Resnik, Anna Fisher, Kathy Sullivan, Shannon Lucid, and Rhea Seddon.

The sunrises
Revisado: 02-15-25
I mostly loved the book, but hate the misunderstandings that always seem to happen and this one lasted for so long! Not extremely realistic, - funny to say that about a fiction novel, but that’s how I feel.

I think maybe Danielle Steel has lost her touch! She needed to make the book longer I think and just kept repeating the same things over and over and over. Very annoying!

Zane and Celeste discover just how thin the line between love and hate truly is, falling harder than either of them thought possible...

Forgiveness
Revisado: 10-07-24
I don’t want to ruin the narrator’s career however, her voice is absolutely terrible! I don’t know how she ever became a voice actor. It sounds thick and nasally at the same time. I hated listening to her, but made it through because I wanted to hear the story.

Bad luck after bad luck after bad luck
Revisado: 09-22-24
Oh my God, I have to say I intensely dislike to this book. All the people who did bad things died before they got their comeuppance so to speak. And it took the heroines way way way too long to figure out how to be friends again and I was just annoyed the entire time.
