Not what I expected

The performance was pretty good and the story had some good roots to it, but it went down a path that I just kind of didn’t expect and really didn’t enjoy. I don’t wanna give anything away, but I had to force myself to finish this book

The story seems pretty basic, but the narration, the narration is very flat and rather annoying. It doesn’t pull you into the story at all, good narration would compensate for LACKLUSTER storytelling. Not even 20 minutes in and I am OUT

Started off good - different

The story started off in a unique way, which was kind of neat and worth listening to, the adventures of this guy. Then it quickly evolved into obviously being written by somebody with a 13-year-old mindset. How often do we have to hear the main character talk aboutmasturbation, chafing during masturbation, masturbating with his couch on the cat watching him, somebody’s mom being peed by a horse and a donkey, just a lot of really stupid juvenile stuff that just doesn’t help the story. I had to force myself to listen to the omnibus, honestly, I wish I wouldn’t have bought it.

Solid performance but kinda boring

I didn’t mind the story, found myself putting it in 1.5 speed to get through it. I I try not to quit stories but some are hard not too. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right frame of mind but - I would not repeat.

A tough listen

This was a tough one for me to listen to, I ended up skipping several stories, because of the narration,

But the choices they made for narrator are really kind of perplexing. The wrong vocal tone for stories, like this, very monotone, reading, not engaging at all. Wasting characters from this universe, and what seem to be pretty decent stories with narrator to make it extremely boring to listen to, I skipped half the stories in this audiobook.

One of those that passed was my friend

It has taken me years to finally get to this book, though I own several copies I could not bring myself to read it. Audible made it easier.

Great story, though tragic for those that passed and the ones who know/love them.

I was happy to hear my friend was held in such high regard by his fellow warriors.

This situation is awful, just awful but I felt the author captured it extremely well. It brought me to tears at the end, thank you for writing/reading this so respectfully.

Fantastic performance

The book is in bed, a little formulaic in terms of the plot but not a bad story. It takes a bit to get going but then once it does it moves pretty fast clip. The narrator, my gosh the best I’ve heard yet

Maybe the greatest movie of all time

What a great companion piece to this truly timeless film. I saw this movie in the theater when I was 3 and it had such an impact on me. I feel in love with sharks and scary stories.

I love hearing the behind the scenes stories and anecdotes.

My gripe - the narrator is just burning through it. He should slow down and enjoy the ride. One chapter ends and he goes immediately into the next, continuing the readying by burning through the chapter titles and moving on.

Great performance, the stories OK

I have recently discovered the author, too much fanfare I decided to give them a try. He’s really hit or miss for me but it’s not bad. The narrator on the story, fantastic job, great work with all the voices in inflections.
