Very good book for sure. So hard to read at times because of just how terrible it was for the Jews during WW2. Super creative in the separate stories all coming together in the end.

What a great book! I was amazed at just how great this book was. What a great story teller! So interesting and funny in so many ways. Fun to hear about the many trials and tribulations that happen in trying to get going with the deli business. Neat to hear about the real-life family struggles that we all deal with.
Lots of interesting people/customers to hear about. You feel like you're right there in the deli. I loved the hearing about George Plimpton too. He was a neat man and the book shows that. Narrating was as good as you get!

Very easy, motivational listen. Also, Donny has a great voice for narrating.
Cool to see just regular people come up with an idea and then actually do something with it.

Another GREAT one!!
Revisado: 09-16-11
Ron McLarty has become one of my favorite authors. His writing covers pretty much of every emotion that we feel as people. I always feel like I'm right there in the story on the sidelines watching everything happen as he reads it. He is also as good as you get when it comes to narrating.
Just solid all the way around.

Also, Warner Brothers has shelled out big bucks for the movie rights to The Memory of Running, for which McLarty will write the script.

What a great book. Great narration. The story is intense, sad, happy and just about every other emotion the we have as humans.
I was actually sad when it was over. I immediately downloaded another of Ron McLarty's books right after finishing this one. I never write reviews, but I was so touched by this book that I just had to let others know.
You won't be disappointed.

Revisado: 07-29-10
Never heard of Larry Winget before, but it was on the 5.95 special and I thought I'd give him a try. It's just not cute after awhile to hear the "good ole, psycho country boy" persona telling you all the same crap that you've heard for years. He just tries too hard to be "tough".
