Historia
From one of our sharpest political thinkers, a brilliant big-picture vision of how to bridge the bitter divides within diverse democracies. Never in history has a democracy succeeded in being both diverse and equal, treating different ethnic or religious groups fairly. And yet achieving that goal is now central to the democratic project.

A lot to think about…honest and hopeful
Revisado: 02-11-23
The truth about people’s need to group and it’s positive and negative consequences to fundamental principles and recommendations that can preserve and democratic societies is a lot to think about. But there is so much to hope for and opportunities for a path to a better world. We need to engage and be open minded right now.

In the stirring, highly anticipated first volume of his presidential memoirs, Barack Obama tells the story of his improbable odyssey from young man searching for his identity to leader of the free world, describing in strikingly personal detail both his political education and the landmark moments of the first term of his historic presidency - a time of dramatic transformation and turmoil.

History from a Truly American President
Revisado: 09-26-21
I appreciated every aspect of the book. The thoughtfulness and balance to what was successful during his presidency and what he wished he’d done better. You are able to understand all the pressures and forces that need to be managed as a human that is self aware of their strengths and weaknesses, while ultimately doing the best they can for the American people.
History will look back on this Presidency as one that dealt with enormous challenges from one of the worst economic meltdowns, to environmental disasters, or events around the globe to sadly terrible examples of how party politics are more about holding power than doing what’s right or at least an attempt to do what’s right for the American people.
Obama’s narration is excellent and you can hear in his voice how these times impacted him.
I do wish the book covered more of his thoughts post his term, but I’m sure that book is coming.
