Historia
Gustav Klimt gave Alma her first kiss. Gustav Mahler fell in love with her at first sight and proposed only a few weeks later. Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius abandoned all reason to pursue her. But who was this woman who brought these eminent men to their knees? In Ecstasy, Mary Sharratt answers that question. Coming of age in the midst of a creative and cultural whirlwind, Alma Schindler yearned to make her mark as a composer. Really Hated the Singing
Revisado: 08-23-18
A bit too full of female angst. Didn't like the protagonist. She was a bit too full of herself.

Typical Romance narrated by the best.

Light romance with a bit of a mystery. Got it because Barbara Rosenblatt was the narrated. She could make the phone book sound interesting.

Fun Time Travel - Annoying Narrator
Revisado: 02-09-16
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would have loved a better narrator. Never got used to her inflections. At least the accents were not too bad.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Alethia was a strong main character and I cared about what happened to her.
How could the performance have been better?
The narrator had odd inflections. Better narrators are really actors that don't seem to be reading the book.

Historia
It is 1803, six years since Elizabeth and Darcy embarked on their life together at Pemberley, Darcy’s magnificent estate. Their peaceful, orderly world seems almost unassailable. Elizabeth has found her footing as the chatelaine of the great house. They have two fine sons, Fitzwilliam and Charles. Elizabeth’s sister Jane and her husband, Bingley, live nearby; her father visits often; there is optimistic talk about the prospects of marriage for Darcy’s sister Georgiana. And preparations are under way for their much-anticipated annual autumn ball.

Simply dreadful
Revisado: 05-25-12
What disappointed you about Death Comes to Pemberley?
I love Jane Austen and all the spinoffs I've read so far. Couldn't finish. The story plodded along and none of the the characters were at all appealing.
